Tam Chuc is as beautiful as a fairyland. About 60 km south of Hanoi, the Tam Chuc spiritual landscape complex is located in Ba Sao town, Kim Bang district, Ha Nam province. With an area of ​​over 5,100 hectares, Tam Chuc is one of the largest spiritual tourist areas in Vietnam, known as "Ha Long Bay on land" thanks to its majestic landscape, blending mountains, lakes and unique architectural works with Buddhist influences.

Created by a flooded limestone mountain area with wild beauty, three sides are surrounded by That Tinh mountain range. Under the lake, six mountains rise up reflecting on the water. With its back leaning against the mountain, facing the lake, Tam Chuc has long been known as a sacred land, a spiritual land.

Considered the heart of this special complex, Tam Chuc Pagoda was built on the foundation of the ancient Tam Chuc Pagoda which is over 1,000 years old. Here, the Tam Chuc festival is restored according to ancient stories from 1,000 years ago on the pilgrimage route connecting the heritage: Golden Pagoda - Trang An - Hoa Lu Ancient Capital - Bai Dinh Pagoda - Van Long (Ninh Binh) - Dong Tam Pagoda (Hoa Binh) - Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ha Nam) - Huong Son Pagoda - Thang Long Imperial Citadel (Hanoi). The pagoda is not only famous for its majestic natural landscape but is also known as one of the largest pagodas in the world - a place to nurture, develop and spread Buddhist cultural values. Many international events have taken place here such as the 2019 Vesak Festival; Cultural Week celebrating 50 years of Vietnam - Japan relations, etc.

A unique feature, Tam Chuc is not only a place to store cultural and historical values ​​but also a natural museum of biodiversity. Currently, the conservation area for white-cheeked langurs and other ornamental species in Tam Chuc covers an area of ​​over 3,100 hectares. This is one of the rare animals that is being strictly preserved.

On May 15, 2018, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 526/QD-TTg approving the Master Plan for Tam Chuc National Tourist Area, Ha Nam Province to 2030. Accordingly, the core area prioritized for development of Tam Chuc National Tourist Area is 4,000 hectares.

The general development goal is that by 2025, Tam Chuc National Tourist Area will basically meet the criteria of a national tourist area. By 2030, Tam Chuc National Tourist Area will have a synchronous technical infrastructure system, high-quality tourism products, forming a tourism brand, and making important contributions to the local socio-economic development.

Together with neighboring tourist clusters, it becomes an attractive tourist center of the Red River Delta, Northeast Coast and the whole country.
