At around 9:20 p.m. the same day, the task force signaled to stop and check a man driving a motorbike with license plate number 14U1-561.40 without wearing a helmet.
However, the man did not comply with the request, deliberately accelerated, swerved into the normal traffic lane and hit the Deputy Captain of Traffic Police Team No. 2, Major Do Thai Bao.
Vu Manh Dung both violated alcohol concentration and tested positive for crystal meth.
The strong collision caused Major Bao to fall and suffer injuries and bleeding from his chin. After that, the man continued to accelerate and drive forward but was restrained by the task force.
The identity of the person who acted against the law is Vu Manh Dung (born in 1984, residing in Cam Son ward, Cam Pha city).
At the time of the inspection, the police determined that Dung had an alcohol concentration of 0.150 mg/L of breath. In addition, a rapid urine test also showed that Dung was positive for crystal meth.
In addition, the task force also seized two folding knives in Dung's pocket.
"The subject used a fake driver's license and had many criminal records. In August 2023, the subject was just released from prison after serving 8 years in prison related to drugs," said the leader of Traffic Police Team No. 2.
This person and the evidence have been handed over to Cam Pha City Police for handling according to the law.
