The Organizing Committee of the 2024-2025 National Professional Football Tournament has just announced the January voting awards for individual and team categories. The voting for the award categories this time is based on matches from round 6 to round 11 and an early match of round 12 (taking place in January). Notably, Vietnam national team striker Nguyen Xuan Son was also honored.

Previously, based on the competition plan, the V-League organizing committee announced the plan to conduct monthly award voting rounds. Specifically, in the 2024-2025 V-League season, there will be 5 voting rounds: September award (from round 1 to round 5), January award (from round 6 to round 11), February award (from round 12 to round 16), April award (from round 17 to round 20), May award (from round 21 to round 24).

In the announcement of the January award voting results just announced, striker Nguyen Xuan Son received the majority of votes from representatives of sports reporters nationwide and the award's organizing committee.

The Brazilian striker played excellently and contributed 5 goals, helping Nam Dinh Club win all matches from round 6 to round 9, but could not play from round 10 due to injury while playing at the AFF Cup 2024 in the Vietnamese national team jersey.

Combining matches in 2 consecutive months is also understandable because the number of matches in each month (especially in January) is considered not enough to consider the award. In previous awards, the tournament organizers also often considered voting in at least 5 rounds.

Thus, Nam Dinh FC received a “hat-trick” of awards, including: Best Club of the Month, Best Coach of the Month (Coach Vu Hong Viet) and Best Player of the Month (Nguyen Xuan Son). The owner of the most beautiful goal of the month was Bui Ngoc Long (No. 18, Ho Chi Minh City FC), with a goal in the 71st minute of the match of round 8 between the “Red Battleship” and Hanoi Police FC.
