In one study, 550 people with hypertension consumed garlic for 3 months. The results showed that systolic blood pressure decreased by approximately 8 points and diastolic blood pressure decreased by approximately 5.5 points.

Reduce inflammation

According to Harvard Health Publishing (USA), chronic inflammation is a cause of heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and arthritis.

Garlic may inhibit the activity of certain inflammatory proteins. In one study, 70 women with rheumatoid arthritis took a 1,000-milligram garlic supplement daily for eight weeks. Afterward, they experienced reduced inflammation and fatigue.
