My Dinh Stadium: From sporting events, Blackpink show to record-breaking yoga performance

My Dinh National Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in Nam Tu Liem District ( Hanoi ), with a large capacity of 40,192 seats and is the center of the Vietnam National Sports Complex. The stadium was officially inaugurated in September 2003, and has since become the main home stadium of the Vietnam National Football Team. My Dinh Stadium has 4 stands. Stands A and B (East and West, respectively) have 2 floors; 25.8m high; covered by a roof weighing 2,300 tons. Meanwhile, stands C and D (South and North, respectively) are 8.4m high with one floor. The grass field measures 105x68m, surrounded by an 8-lane athletics track and other sports facilities. The main function of the field is to serve football and athletics with 8 400m running lanes and 10 110m straight running lanes. My Dinh Stadium has witnessed many domestic and international sporting events , starting with a friendly match between U23 Vietnam and Shanghai Shenhua Football Club (China) in September 2003. Many of the most important international matches have been held at My Dinh Stadium such as: Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 2003 and 2021); Southeast Asian Football Championship (AFF Cup 2004, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2022); Asian Cup 2007; 2018 and 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Asia.

This is the second time Vietnam has hosted the SEA Games, after the first time in 2003. After the opening ceremony rich in national art at My Dinh Stadium, there was a 15-minute fireworks display. Most recently, the band Blackpink brought 2 performances to My Dinh Stadium as part of the "Born Pink World Tour" on July 29 and 30. The group "burned" the stage with more than 60,000 spectators with more than 20 songs, from songs associated with the group's name such as: How you like that, Whistle, Pretty savage, Kill this love, Lovesick girls, Playing with fire, Boombayah... to each solo performance. According to the report of the Hanoi Department of Tourism , tourism activities in the capital benefited greatly from Blackpink's 2 performances, with total revenue from tourists estimated at 630 billion VND (Photo: BLACKPINK).
