Duy Tan University Students Win SAP ERPsim Asia-Pacific Champion

Organized by SAP (based in Asia in Melbourne), HEC Montreal and SAP University, SAP ERPsim 2025 is an ideal playground for talented students to challenge their business management skills on the ERP platform, a tool that is increasingly widely used in optimizing business management and operations.

Dongry Corporation Team of Duy Tan University won the SAP ERPsim Student Competition 2025 - APJ Cup

The competition attracted the participation of teams from many prestigious universities in Korea, Indonesia, India, Philippines, Malaysia, China:

• University of Melbourne (Australia),
• Yonam Institute of Technology (Korea),
• Islamic University of Indonesia (Indonesia),
• Cyberjaya Multimedia University (Malaysia),
• Garden City University (India),
• DBS Global University (India),
• Manila National University (Philippines),
• …

Vietnam alone has teams from 4 universities:

• Duy Tan University (Vietnam),
• Hanoi University of Science and Technology (Vietnam),
• International University - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam),
• International Training Institute - University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam).

Held through an online competition, teams participated in a simulation game of sustainable manufacturing business management on the SAP S/4HANA platform with evaluation criteria including:

• Financial Performance,

• Production - Distribution Strategy, and

• Carbon Emission Management Capability.

Teams are tasked with managing a company that produces and distributes breakfast cereals (Muesli) with 12 different product lines. The special thing is that from zero, there is (1) no inventory, and (2) no supply chain. Teams must build the entire business operation process including the following steps:

• strategic planning,
• purchase,
• product formulation development, manufacturing,
• accounting, finance,
• logistics, distribution and sales.

Throughout the competition, teams must deal with random disruptions and solve the problem of “ carbon emissions ”. This is an important factor affecting profits as consumers increasingly prioritize “green” and environmentally friendly businesses.

Focusing on teamwork productivity helped Dongry Corporation, Duy Tan University team win the highest victory.

The Dongry Corporation team from Duy Tan University demonstrated excellent ERP system operation capabilities, as well as sharp strategies and effective teamwork. They not only optimized the production process but also overcame difficult financial and business environment challenges.

Captain Tran Dinh Tan Phat from Nam Khue Faculty of Management (SMi), Duy Tan University shared: “ I am extremely proud to represent Duy Tan University to participate in a big playground and win the championship. During the competition, DongRy Corporation team had to face many big challenges, especially when getting acquainted with the ERP system and building a reasonable competition strategy in every minute. However, thanks to the knowledge learned over the years and the spirit of solidarity, the team overcame difficulties to compete effectively and win. Before the upcoming world tournament, we will turn pressure into motivation, prepare carefully to achieve the best results, contributing to the image of Vietnamese students with courage and intelligence in the global arena."

The Business Intelligence Center (BIC) at Duy Tan University was established in 2019 to apply advanced business management systems to teaching and research. The center always organizes many in-depth workshops and seminars, and promotes cooperation with local and international businesses to update the latest technical trends for practical application in business management. BIC is the organizer of Duy Tan University's annual ERPSim competition - an intellectual and creative playground that attracts students studying different majors to participate. This is a rare opportunity for students to equip themselves with solid knowledge, develop strategic thinking and teamwork skills, thereby preparing them for career development in the Digital Age.

The top 3 teams have qualified for the ERPsim International Competition 2025 World Finals, including:
