The new Suzuki Swift is expected to launch in the final months of the year before the Swift Sport version hits the market in the first half of 2024.
Suzuki's top-selling hatchback, the Swift, is set to return with a new generation featuring hybrid powertrain technology.
Specifically, according to Japan's Best Car magazine, Suzuki will launch the next generation of Swift with a 1.2L 4-cylinder engine with a hybrid system to ensure low emissions. In addition, the Swift Sport version equipped with a 1.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine will also apply the above electrification technology.
The 1.2L and 1.4L electrified engines on the 4th generation could be upgraded or reused from the current generation. The 1.2L engine specifications that Suzuki Swift is using are 81 horsepower/107Nm, while the 1.4L turbocharged version is 125 horsepower/235Nm. Having a hybrid system helps Swift maintain its future in regions like Europe, where emission standards are increasingly strict.
The new Swift's interior remains a mystery.
Referring to some other sources such as Drive, a more specific time for the Suzuki Swift to launch is "before October 2023" and the Swift Sport is "June 2024".
In terms of design, based on the test version that appeared in late 2022, the 2024 Suzuki Swift still partly uses the old frame, but the sportiness is more clearly emphasized, and the surfaces are significantly neater.
The new front end of the car seems to have been widened to better match the large lights on both sides. Both this area and the side look quite angular, above is a slightly curved roof.
