Quang Ninh After a week of taking weight loss pills bought online, a 38-year-old woman had chest pain and delirium and was diagnosed with acute poisoning, kidney failure, and arrhythmia.
On June 23, a representative of the Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital informed that the patient was admitted in a state of fatigue, drowsiness, and rapid pulse.
According to the family, about a week ago, the patient took weight loss pills bought online, and then showed symptoms of eating and sleeping less, fatigue, chest pain, and talking nonsense. The doctor is currently unclear about what brand of weight loss pills the patient took.
Test results showed that the patient had acute poisoning, suspected to be caused by weight loss drugs. Doctors performed intensive resuscitation, determined that the poisoning was very critical, with severe arrhythmia, kidney failure, and severe hypokalemia, and transferred him to the Poison Control Center, Bach Mai Hospital (Hanoi).
Doctors recommend that women absolutely do not use products sold online, of unknown origin. People need to lose weight scientifically, combining a reasonable diet with regular exercise. Using weight loss drugs, especially unproven rapid weight loss drugs, is extremely harmful and life-threatening.
