Mr. Nguyen Song Ha - Chairman of Bac Ninh City People's Committee said that the City People's Committee is coordinating with relevant agencies to dismantle houses that have subsided and are at risk of continuing to subside to minimize landslides on the banks of the Cau River.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh - Director of the Bac Ninh City Construction Project Management Board, in addition to dismantling the sinking houses, the Bac Ninh City People's Committee has assessed the current status of residents in the area; proposed solutions for compensation, site clearance, migration and resettlement in areas at risk.

According to Mr. Thanh, during the demolition process, the authorities have prepared the ground, gathered machinery, reworked the roads leading to the incident area and focused on dismantling the houses under the river first. If there are no incidents during the construction process, it will be completed in about 3 days.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Trinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Ninh province informed that the demolition of houses affected by landslides aims to limit the load on the riverbank in this area, reducing the risk of landslides. After demolishing the structures, experts will monitor to have data to evaluate the entire river section, from which to propose specific solutions.

As Dan Viet reported, the riverbank landslide incident from K49+750 to K49+800 of Huu Cau dike, Van An ward, which occurred from early March 2024 until now, has caused 6 houses and 2 structures to collapse into the river, forcing the evacuation of 12 households from the dangerous area.

After the landslide, local authorities evacuated affected households and directed relevant agencies and units to increase standing forces, patrol, and monitor 24/7, promptly handling incidents according to the "4 on-site" motto.

On March 20, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province issued Decision No. 284/QD-UBND on declaring a natural disaster emergency situation regarding the riverbank landslide incident from K49+750:K49+800 Huu Cau dike, Van An ward, Bac Ninh city.

The Provincial People's Committee also directed the functional forces to put up warning signs, build a barrier system, closely monitor the incident, prepare all necessary materials, human resources, and equipment to be able to mobilize immediately if the incident develops further, affecting the safety of people's lives and property and the safety of the dike, and at the same time develop plans and scenarios to evacuate people from the incident area.
