This information surprised the scientific research community and is considered to be a very important contribution to research and tourism at My Son.
Turning over 220 square meters of land, archaeologists discovered a secret entrance to My Son Sanctuary
On the afternoon of April 8, the My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board held a workshop and announced initial information on the results of the exploration and excavation of the architectural ruins of the path to the east of Tower K.
The shape of the sacred road is revealed in My Son
According to the My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board, archaeologists have recently turned over about 220 square meters of land to clarify whether or not in the past there existed a route leading from Tower K to the center of My Son Sanctuary.
Regarding the relic, the excavation pits revealed the structure of an architectural section of the eastern approach road to tower K.
The structure cuts across a 9m wide road, including the roadway and two brick walls on both sides.
The road leading from the east of tower K leads to tower areas E - F deep inside the My Son valley.
The surrounding wall is built by building and stacking bricks in double rows on both sides, with broken bricks stuffed in the middle. The wall has a large base, then gradually narrows towards the top with an upper surface width of about 0.46m.
Based on the amount of bricks dumped in the exploration and excavation pits, it can be concluded that this wall was not built high, but only as a dividing wall that limits the space inside and outside the road within the same sacred space of the relic.

The above relics continue to strengthen the opinion that the architecture of the approach road dates from the 12th century, equivalent to the age of tower K.
"The results of this exploration and excavation confirmed that there was a path leading from Tower K to the central area of My Son Sanctuary in the 12th century, which is the first time that domestic and international archeological and historical researchers have known about it.
This road stretches over a space of over 500m, starting from tower K towards the front yard of tower F.
"Currently, it is possible to determine with certainty the structure of the road from Tower K to Suoi Can area to the east - about 150m from Tower K" - My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board commented.

The path for sacred rituals in My Son
Based on the traces found, researchers determined that the Shinto path leading to the newly discovered K tower had multiple functions.
Specifically: This road serves as a sacred path - the path of Hindu gods. The Royal Road - the path for Champa kings and monks to enter the My Son Sanctuary to worship their gods.

With the updated research results during this working session, scientists concluded that this is a sacred path - a path leading gods, kings and Brahmanical priests into the sacred space of My Son Sanctuary.
Traces of sacred paths or ceremonial paths related to Hindu rituals have been discovered by archaeologists at several sites similar to the My Son temple complex.
What is the value of My Son?
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Quy, Institute of Archaeology (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) - in charge of excavating the My Son sacred road, said that the world's first discovery of the sacred road in My Son will add cultural stories to make the relic more vivid and closer to tourists.
In particular, the events reenacting the rituals serving My Son tours will be elevated from here on, and the stories will be more sacred and attractive.

"We really hope that the research results will be updated to serve research and tourism. On this basis, cultural experts will redesign tours, products, and stories. Visitors to My Son will hear more legends," said Mr. Quy.
Dr. Quy also commented that the discovery of the sacred path in My Son for the first time has let the public know that for a long time the design of roads and paths serving My Son tourism "has been going backwards".
New tourists come to My Son out of curiosity, to visit the relics of a ruined culture.
Therefore, the newly discovered sacred road will clearly show the public the shape of an intact heritage from the entrance to the ceremonial gate to the holy land, the religion of the kingdom that was very brilliant in history.
