Implementing the plan, on April 5, the Board of Directors of Sudico issued a Decision to change the company name, assigning the General Director of the company to carry out the necessary procedures to complete the name change process. The new name SJ Group was officially approved by the Department of Planning and Investment on April 11. After the name change, the company's English name is SJ Group Joint stock company, abbreviated name: SJ Group.
Speaking to Lao Dong newspaper, a company representative said that Sudico expects the name change to be a turning point marking the process of corporate restructuring, creating a new brand in the Vietnamese real estate market.
Formerly a subsidiary of Song Da Corporation established in 2001, Sudico's name is associated with the My Dinh - Me Tri Urban Area projects. With a scale of 36 hectares, the project owns a prime location adjacent to the inner city center, with European architectural style and synchronous, modern planning.
In 2006, Sudico's SJS shares were listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE). Marking the impressive development of this brand after only 5 years of establishment.
In April 2022, Song Da Corporation completed the divestment process, Sudico officially became a public company with 100% private capital. In April 2024, after 2 years of privatization, Sudico announced its new name and plan to reposition the brand, promote business investment activities, and issue shares to increase charter capital.
Accordingly, the name SJ Group is part of the brand repositioning plan, building a new brand with 2 identifying points: First, SJ Group aims to bring "smart" real estate products, reaching international standards. Second, SJ Group associates its brand with "green" projects, aiming to create environmentally friendly real estate products, reduce emissions, and prioritize the use of renewable energy.
Regarding the medium and long-term product development strategy after the name change, SJ Group focuses on two main business areas: Housing and urban business; Eco-tourism resort business. Of which, housing and urban business accounts for the main proportion - about 70% - 75%; Eco-tourism resort business accounts for about 20% - 25%.
