“Quang Tri joins hands to build new rural areas” has truly become a vibrant and widespread emulation movement from the province to the grassroots, receiving leadership and direction from all levels and sectors. For nearly 10 years now, the movement "New Rural Area Improvement Sunday" has been regularly implemented by Quat Xa village, Cam Nghia commune, Cam Lo district on the last Sunday of the month, attracting the participation of a large number of villagers.
Party cell secretary and head of Quat Xa village, Luong Cong Duy, said: “Rural beautification and participation in building new rural areas have become regular activities for the people of Quat Xa village. Every last Sunday of the month, people proactively arrange their family work to join the village in beautifying village roads, planting and taking care of flower paths, and cleaning the environment...
Along with that, associations and organizations in the village also registered to beautify the countryside on anniversaries and holidays. The spread of the movement also helped each villager raise awareness of rural beautification, thereby joining hands to contribute to building the new rural area. Many households have proactively cleaned and decorated their gardens, houses, and gateways to be green, clean, and beautiful.
A special thing is that in the process of implementing the movement "Quang Tri joins hands to build new rural areas", it also creates competition between villages in the area. From there, it forms a spirit of self-awareness in each person, contributing together, joining hands to build rural areas gradually becoming livable hometowns".
Organizing the implementation of the movement "Quang Tri joins hands to build new rural areas" has also become a key and regular task of all levels and sectors in the province. Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union Tran Thi Thanh Ha said: "Implementing the campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean" associated with the movement "Quang Tri women join hands to build new rural areas", we have directed the unions at all levels to continue to undertake the tasks of participating in building new rural areas in the locality, selecting units to build a model of "5 yes, 3 clean".
At the same time, directly deploy and coordinate to organize many activities such as coordinating with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to organize the contest "Quang Tri women take action to protect the environment, join hands to build new rural areas"; organize communication and distribute 1,200 energy-saving LED bulbs to 300 disadvantaged women members and poor households in Gio My commune (Gio Linh district).
In 2023, directed the launch of 24 models of "Safe villages for women and children", bringing the total number of models in the province to 94. Directed the establishment of 11 models of "Family of 5 haves, 3 cleans" with 1,480 participating members, bringing the total number of models in the province to 22.
Along with that, the Provincial Veterans Association launched many meaningful movements in the entire association, all levels of the association and its members to join hands with localities in building the new rural areas.
Typical examples include the movement "Exemplary veterans"; the movement "3 eradication" (eradicating poverty, eliminating dilapidated houses, eliminating social evils) in the whole association; the movement "Contributing ideas, donating labor, donating land to build new rural areas"; "Enriching yourself, enriching your homeland", "Building ecological villages", "Greening barren hills", "Houses of gratitude", "Shelters of love", "Security gongs", "The road that grandparents and grandchildren take care of together", "Veterans help each other reduce poverty, do good business" in all levels of the association and its members.
