Spread of the emulation movement to build new rural areas

“ Quang Tri joins hands to build new rural areas” has truly become a vibrant and widespread emulation movement from the province to the grassroots, receiving leadership and direction from all levels and sectors. Since then, it has created a clear change in the awareness, actions, consciousness and responsibility of all classes of people, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development goals set out by the province.

For nearly 10 years now, the movement "New Rural Sunday" has been regularly deployed by Quat Xa village, Cam Nghia commune, Cam Lo district on the last Sunday of the month, attracting the participation of a large number of villagers.

Party Cell Secretary, Head of Quat Xa Village Luong Cong Duy said: “Rural beautification and participation in building new rural areas have become a regular activity of the people of Quat Xa Village. Every last Sunday of the month, people proactively arrange their family work to join the village in beautifying village roads, planting and taking care of flower paths, cleaning the environment...

Along with that, associations and organizations in the village also registered to beautify the countryside on anniversaries and holidays. The spread of the movement also helped each villager raise awareness of beautifying the countryside, thereby joining hands to contribute to building the new rural area. Many households have proactively cleaned and beautified their gardens, houses, and gateways to be green, clean, and beautiful.

A special thing is that in the process of implementing the movement "Quang Tri joins hands to build new rural areas", it also creates competition between villages in the area. From there, it forms a spirit of self-awareness in each person, contributing together, joining hands to build rural areas to gradually become livable homelands".

Organizing the implementation of the movement "Quang Tri joins hands to build new rural areas" has also become a key and regular task of all levels and sectors in the province. Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union Tran Thi Thanh Ha said: "Implementing the campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean" associated with the movement "Quang Tri women join hands to build new rural areas", we have directed the union at all levels to continue to undertake the tasks of participating in building new rural areas in the locality, selecting units to build pilot models of "5 yes, 3 clean".

At the same time, directly deploy and coordinate to organize many activities such as coordinating with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to organize the contest "Quang Tri women take action to protect the environment, join hands to build new rural areas"; organize communication and distribute 1,200 energy-saving LED bulbs to 300 disadvantaged women members and poor households in Gio My commune (Gio Linh district).

In 2023, directed the launch of 24 models of "Safe villages for women and children", bringing the total number of models in the province to 94. Directed the establishment of 11 models of "Family of 5 haves, 3 cleans" with 1,480 participating members, bringing the total number of models in the province to 22.

Along with that, the Provincial Veterans Association launched many meaningful movements in the entire association, all levels of the association and its members to join hands with localities in building the new rural areas.

Typical examples include the "Exemplary Veterans" movement; the "3 Eradicate" movement (eradicate poverty, eliminate dilapidated houses, eliminate social evils) in the entire association; the "Contribute ideas, contribute labor, contribute land to build new rural areas" movement; "Enrich yourself, enrich your homeland", "Build ecological villages", "Greening barren hills", "Houses of gratitude", "Warm homes of love", "Security gongs", "The road that grandparents and grandchildren take care of together", "Veterans help each other reduce poverty, do good business " in all levels of the association and its members.

The Provincial Farmers' Association and farmers' associations at all levels carry out the movement "Farmers compete in production and good business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty"; carry out the movement "Saturday for the New Rural Area"...

The Youth Union with the movement "Quang Tri Youth join hands to build the New Rural Area in the period of 2011 - 2015" and implement the motto "Each youth has a good deed, each union organization has a practical activity to participate in building the New Rural Area", "Light of the Countryside Road", "The Youth Path to Build the New Rural Area", "Youth Self-Management", "Accompanying the Youth in Starting a Business and Establishing a Career"; "Career and Employment Festival for the Youth", "Startup Bus", organize the forum "Youth with Career and Employment", conference on consulting loans, job creation and labor export...

To effectively implement the emulation movement "Quang Tri joins hands to build new rural areas", the Provincial Party Committee has issued a specialized Resolution on new rural areas; the Provincial People's Council has issued resolutions on principles, criteria, and norms for allocating central budget capital and local budget counterpart capital for 3 national target programs, including the national target program on building new rural areas... The Provincial People's Committee has issued plans on implementing the new rural area construction program, specialized plans on promoting the new rural area construction program, and communication plans on building new rural areas...

The Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee have organized two launching ceremonies of the movement "Quang Tri joins hands to build new rural areas" associated with the efforts to have two districts meet new rural standards in Hai Lang and Trieu Phong. Relevant departments, branches, and enterprises located in the province have integrated programs and projects to disseminate, propagate, and carry out practical sponsorship activities for disadvantaged communes in building new rural areas.

Many localities have organized launching ceremonies for the movement to build new rural areas in association with rural beautification and emulation and reward work. Some localities have issued policies to reward welfare works for communes, villages, and model gardens that meet standards such as Vinh Linh and Cam Lo districts.

Implementing the movement "Quang Tri joins hands to build new rural areas", the rural appearance in localities in the province has improved a lot, the social infrastructure system has been invested quite synchronously, basically meeting production requirements, people's lives have been increasingly improved, the rate of poor and near-poor households has decreased sharply. The grassroots political system has been consolidated; the role of the people as the subject in implementing the new rural construction program has been increasingly enhanced.
