Diversity of sports training movements

To meet the requirements and tasks set out in the current period, all levels and sectors in the province have continuously made efforts to implement many solutions to promote the development of sports in general and mass sports in particular.

In particular, the highlight is the continued and effective implementation of the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", associated with the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" and the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas".

The promotion of propaganda about the role and benefits of physical training and sports has been carried out regularly and in many forms, contributing to raising awareness among all classes of people. Thanks to that, mass physical training and sports activities always attract a large number of people to participate. Sports that are widely chosen by the people to practice every day include: Folk dance, Yoga, Gymnastics, Soccer, Volleyball, Badminton, etc. and recently, the new sport - Pickleball has also developed strongly in all localities in the province.

In addition to promoting various types of training, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province has coordinated with units to organize many sports competitions to serve political tasks and important events of the country and the province. In particular, during the month of sports activities to celebrate the traditional day of the sports sector (March 27) and anniversaries, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and many localities in the province have also organized the "Olympic Running Day for the Health of the People 2025" with an increasing scale and number of participants.

The development of mass sports is the foundation for promoting high-performance sports in the province. The work of selecting and training athletes for high-performance sports teams is maintained, ensuring focus and key points, concentrating on strong sports, suitable to local conditions. This is considered an important and regular task to contribute to improving the health and spiritual life of ethnic people; at the same time, contributing to preserving and promoting ethnic sports and traditional folk games of ethnic minorities in the province.

To promote sports activities among ethnic minorities, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism always closely coordinates with all levels, sectors and localities to promote propaganda, support professional competitions, restore and preserve folk games and ethnic sports. Along with that, regularly organize competitions integrating ethnic sports on holidays, Tet, and local Sports Festivals, in order to create a useful playground for ethnic minorities.

Accordingly, ethnic sports are regularly organized in the province such as: Stick pushing, Tug of war, Con tossing, Chess, Swinging, Stilt racing, Spinning tops, Scarf playing, Cannon head competition, Crossbow shooting, Swallow fighting, Grass weeding, Traditional martial arts, Horse racing... The development of ethnic sports and folk games in the ethnic community is not only a sport activity that brings health to the people but also contributes to creating a highlight for Cao Bang to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ngoc Van Chan: in the coming time, the Department will continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee on the management and development of physical training and sports, issue directive documents and develop plans for the new period. Promote the mass sports movement, improve the quality of activities at departments, branches, sectors, organizations and localities, towards the goal of improving the health of all people.

Along with that, well implement socialization work, enhance exploitation and effective use of the physical training and sports facilities system; Focus on developing mass sports associated with preserving and developing ethnic sports to create a cohesive environment among people in ethnic minority areas...

With synchronous solutions, physical training and sports in general and mass physical training and sports in particular, including the task of preserving, maintaining and developing ethnic sports in the northernmost province of the country, promise to increasingly flourish and go into depth.

In 2024, Cao Bang will have 30.5% of people regularly exercising and 20.5% of families participating in sports. 100% of schools in the area will ensure physical education programs; 97% of officers and soldiers of the armed forces will regularly exercise. In particular, the model of sports clubs, teams and groups will be developed in both quantity and quality.

The target by 2030 is that the number of people participating in regular physical training will reach over 35% of the population; the number of families practicing physical training will reach over 25%.
