A US company has created a new bottled water called Sky Wtr. The product is powered by atmospheric moisture and solar energy, making it possible to produce it in remote areas where natural water supplies are limited.

The company uses a cutting-edge technology called hydropanel, which is a water condenser powered by an integrated solar panel.

Sky Wtr is a groundbreaking product, offering consumers a sustainable, untapped and truly unique bottled water option, said Ashley Hower, chief executive.

Electricity from the solar panels powers a fan that draws air and pushes it through a water-absorbing material. This material collects highly purified water from the steam. The purified water is then supplemented with minerals to make it taste normal.

The company’s water bottles are made at a factory in Florida. Thousands of hydraulic plates at the plant extract water on an industrial scale from humidity in the air. Each can costs $1.49.

Because of their self-powered nature, hydro panels can be used to provide clean water to communities and residents in areas without a power grid or reliable clean water source.

According to the company, the panels can harvest water even in extremely dry conditions. The company produces water year-round in Arizona, despite the region being arid.

This technology helps alleviate the water shortages that a large part of the global population experiences at certain times.

According to statistics, the global bottled water market reached a revenue of 300 billion USD last year and is expected to continue to grow this decade. Bottled water mainly relies on groundwater from rivers, streams and lakes. This is a finite resource that can be depleted if over-exploited.

Since 1993, scientists estimate that more than 2,150 gigatons of groundwater have been pumped from the earth. Many experts believe that global demand for fresh water will continue to increase as water quantity and quality decline.

Bottled water from air would be a breakthrough product in the industry with sustainable extraction.

Why the new bottle cap is inconvenient but Europe still forces it New plastic bottles with non-removable caps have appeared in Europe since this summer. Some consumers feel inconvenienced and wonder why nature is causing more trouble?
