Dr. Nhi Le, former Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Magazine, in her paper submitted to the scientific conference " The Communist Party of Vietnam - 95 Years of Steadfast Commitment to National Independence and Socialism, Building a Prosperous and Happy Country," emphasized: The Communist Party of Vietnam was founded in early 1930. This was the "inevitable historical encounter" between Marxism-Leninism, the workers' movement, and the patriotic movement, forged and fueled by the thousands of years of courageous and heroic sacrifice of countless generations of patriotic Vietnamese people.

Dr. Nhi Le added that it is the crystallization of the people's aspirations, the answer to the question of national development, and the movement of the country in accordance with the demands of the times, something that cannot be resisted or stopped by any force. The people embraced, protected, and grew within the nation, and the Party became the leader of the Vietnamese revolution, the truly loyal servant of the people, "the offspring of the working class," leading the country to continuous growth, not betraying the trust and confidence of the people, and worthy of the trust of friends around the world.

Under the banner of the Party, for the past 95 years, our nation has confidently and steadily advanced on the path of socialism. The great and historically significant achievements of the 40 years of reform initiated and led by the Party have given our country a new position, new strength, and new prestige, striving for prosperity and keeping pace with the times.

The responsibility and honor of the Party to govern before the People is entrusted by the history of the nation and acknowledged, entrusted, and trusted by the Vietnamese People; it absolutely does not "fall from the sky" or result from the subjective arrangement of anyone, or the misconception of any class or stratum.

This is the inevitable and glorious victory of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought in our country; it embodies the philosophy of strong and sustainable development of Vietnam through loyalty and independence; innovation, creativity and democracy; the Party's discipline in the Vietnamese tradition with noble ethics and indomitable spirit; unity and tolerance.

This is a tremendous victory of revolutionary heroism, Vietnamese patriotism, of the tradition of great unity, courage, and morality of 54 ethnic groups with 100 million compatriots, forged over thousands of years, accumulated and developed to a new level and quality under the banner of the Party; it is the continued steadfastness on the socialist path and the realization of the necessary, optimal, appropriate, and effective national renewal through renewed thinking and vision, proactively seizing opportunities, unlocking resources, and unified, creative, and concrete actions of the nation.

Dr. Nhi Le analyzed that the ruling Party is the continuation of leading the revolutionary cause under conditions of state power, and the Party leads society through a socialist rule of law state of the People, by the People, and for the People. Simultaneously, it leads the entire political and social system and the Vietnamese nation using appropriate methods and techniques to achieve the goals of national independence and socialism, for a prosperous people, a strong nation, democracy, fairness, and civilization. The responsibility and honor of the Party in governing before the People is entrusted by the nation's history and acknowledged, entrusted, and trusted by the Vietnamese people; it is absolutely not something that "fell from the sky" or a subjective arrangement by anyone, or a misconception of any class or stratum.

“There is no doubt that the history of the Vietnamese nation gave birth to the Communist Party of Vietnam, which in turn responded to the demands of national history, meeting the ever-increasing needs in scale, speed, and depth of national development and aligning with the progressive trends of the times. This is the natural and inevitable dialectical development of the Vietnamese nation and the Communist Party of Vietnam. This is the inevitable development need of the country today, on the path of national independence and socialism, under the banner of the Party. This is the necessity of the Party's leadership and governance, its legitimacy, legality, and credibility ensuring legal and moral standing; through practice, the Party enhances and develops its competence, substance, and authority to successfully fulfill its leadership and governance responsibilities in accordance with national history, the aspirations of the people, and the trends of the times,” wrote Dr. Nhi Le.

In his paper submitted to the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Danh Tien, Director of the Institute of Party History (Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy), also emphasized that national independence and socialism are the revolutionary paths that the Party and leader Nguyen Ai Quoc chose for the Vietnamese nation from the very beginning, reflecting Nguyen Ai Quoc's strategic vision and the Party's wisdom, in line with the development trends of the times, and meeting the needs and aspirations of all strata of the people.

Applying the ideology of Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh, in the process of leading the revolution, the Communist Party of Vietnam has creatively and flexibly applied those goals to suit the specific conditions of each historical period and stage. Thanks to its unwavering commitment to national independence and socialism, over the past 95 years, the Vietnamese revolution has achieved great victories in the 20th century and tremendous achievements of historical significance after nearly 40 years of implementing the Doi Moi (Renovation) process.

After nearly 40 years of reform, "from a poor, backward, low-level country, surrounded and embargoed, Vietnam has become a developing country with a middle income, deeply and broadly integrated into world politics, the global economy, and human civilization, undertaking many important international responsibilities, and playing an active role in many important multilateral organizations and forums... Independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity are maintained; national and ethnic interests are ensured... People's lives have improved significantly, the poverty rate has decreased sharply; the Millennium Development Goals have been achieved ahead of schedule... Political, economic, cultural, social, scientific and technological, defense, and security potential is constantly being enhanced; actively contributing to maintaining peace and stability in the region and the world."

“The rich reality of the Vietnamese revolution over the past 95 years is vivid evidence affirming that: steadfastly adhering to the goals of national independence and socialism is the red thread running throughout the process of the Party's leadership of the Vietnamese revolution and is a crucial factor creating the great victories in the 20th century and the miracles after nearly 40 years of implementing the reform process, creating the basis and foundation for successfully achieving the goal of building a prosperous, civilized, happy Vietnam, steadily advancing towards socialism,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Danh Tien emphasized.

In an interview with Tien Phong newspaper, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Trong Phuc, former Director of the Institute of Party History, also emphasized, as the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong once stressed: Our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position, and international prestige as it does today. Vietnam is currently possessing many favorable conditions in terms of politics, economics, security, defense, and international integration… especially the unity of over 100 million people.

"All of that creates the momentum and strength for the country to develop, entering a new era, an era of national progress, towards the goal of a modern, powerful, prosperous, civilized, and happy country," Mr. Phuc said.

According to Mr. Phuc, the ongoing work, such as the streamlining of the administrative apparatus; breakthroughs in science and technology development; and the fight against corruption and waste, all aim to achieve the goal of national development and fulfill President Ho Chi Minh's last wish: "Our Party has no other purpose than the happiness of the people."

At the scientific conference "The Communist Party of Vietnam - 95 years of unwavering commitment to the goals of national independence and socialism, building a prosperous and happy country," Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Committee, and Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia (now Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department) affirmed that, with its correct, scientific, and creative revolutionary line, from its inception to the present day, the Communist Party of Vietnam has always remained steadfast in its commitment to the goals of national independence and socialism, leading the Vietnamese people to achieve great victories: the victory of the August Revolution in 1945 and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam; the victory of 30 years of struggle for national liberation and reunification (1945-1975); These achievements, of great historical significance, have contributed to the reform process, the acceleration of industrialization, modernization, and international integration (from 1986 to the present), and the realization of the goal of building a prosperous, strong, democratic, just, and civilized Vietnam. These accomplishments have strengthened the foundation and created a powerful impetus for the Party to continue leading the country steadily into a new era – an era of national progress.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that the vibrant and rich practical experience of the Vietnamese revolution is a powerful testament affirming that the correct and wise leadership of the Party is the decisive factor in all the victories of the Vietnamese revolution, continuing to write golden pages in the nation's history. At the same time, through the practical experience of revolutionary leadership, our Party has been tempered, tested, and continuously matured, worthy of its mission to lead the revolution and the trust of the people; thereby affirming a truth: "In Vietnam, there is no other political force besides the Communist Party of Vietnam that possesses the courage, wisdom, experience, prestige, and ability to lead the country through all difficulties and challenges, bringing the nation's revolutionary cause from one victory to another."

Speaking at a meeting with former Party and State leaders on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that, looking back at the glorious and proud history and traditions of the Party over the past 95 years, we see even more clearly the responsibility of today's generation of leaders and Party members in the historical process of the nation. The Party's current mission is to lead the country into an era of development and prosperity, successfully building a socialist Vietnam that is wealthy, strong, democratic, just, and civilized, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world's leading powers; ensuring that all citizens have a prosperous and happy life, are supported in development and wealth creation; and contributing increasingly to world peace, stability, development, the happiness of humanity, and global civilization.

According to the General Secretary, the period from now until 2030 is the most crucial time to establish a new world order. This is also a strategic period and opportunity, the final push of the Vietnamese revolution to achieve the 100-year strategic goals under the Party's leadership, creating a solid foundation to achieve the 100-year goals of the nation's founding. Missing this opportunity would be a disservice to the country and its people. This is a mandate of the times.

The General Secretary affirmed: The Central Committee of the Party, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the agencies within the political system will continue to promote the spirit of unity and cohesion in effectively implementing work programs. Our Party is more united, more cohesive, and more harmoniously coordinated. At this new historical moment, there is an urgent need for a strong renewal of leadership methods and an enhancement of the Party's leadership and governing capacity to enable our nation to continue its strong progress.

The General Secretary affirmed: The Central Committee of the Party, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the agencies within the political system will continue to promote the spirit of unity and cohesion in effectively implementing work programs. Our Party is more united, more closely connected, and more harmoniously coordinated.

The year 2025 holds special significance, as it is a year of acceleration and breakthroughs to successfully achieve the goals of the 2021-2025 five-year socio-economic development plan, and a year marked by many important national events. To successfully achieve the goal of becoming a developing country with upper-middle income by 2030 and a developed country with high income by 2045, the General Secretary emphasized that starting in 2025, maximum effort must be made to create breakthroughs in attracting investment, strongly promoting production, business, and services; striving for a growth rate of at least 8% or higher; and creating a solid foundation for achieving double-digit growth rates from 2026 onwards. In these historical moments, the country needs strong will and determination, and historically significant policy decisions.

“We can absolutely achieve this with innovative thinking, high determination, great effort, decisive action, breakthrough solutions, and creative and effective methods. Accordingly, we need to mobilize and unleash all resources, motivations, and creativity; exploit and utilize all hidden potential, opportunities, and advantages of the country, of each Party organization, Party member, each level, each sector, each agency, unit, enterprise, and every Vietnamese citizen. More than ever, we need to maximize the spirit of solidarity, working together, and being united, daring to speak, daring to think, daring to act, and daring to innovate for the common good,” the General Secretary affirmed.

The General Secretary emphasized that the achievements of 40 years of reform are immense and historically significant, helping Vietnam accumulate strength and momentum for breakthrough development in the next phase. However, he stressed that we cannot be complacent with what we have and must seriously reassess our current position in the world; clearly see the limitations, weaknesses, and challenges facing us now and in the coming years, not only from external, objective factors, but also from internal issues, institutional and cultural "barriers." The risks that the Party has pointed out for a long time still exist, and some aspects are becoming more complex.

Continuing to shoulder the weighty responsibilities of history, in the coming period, General Secretary To Lam clearly stated that priority should be given to effectively implementing the following groups of tasks. First and foremost is the issue of Party building; the demands of national development urgently require the Party to continue to strongly innovate its leadership methods and enhance its leadership and governance capabilities.

Secondly, the central task of socio-economic development requires stronger, more decisive, resolute, revolutionary, and comprehensive reforms in economic management.

Thirdly, emphasis should be placed on developing culture and society, and building Vietnamese people with the necessary qualities and capabilities to meet the requirements of sustainable development, while ensuring social security, creating a healthy living environment, mitigating natural disasters, and adapting to climate change. Investment in cultural development needs to be in harmony with economic and social development, creating a civilized, united, and progressive society.

Fourthly, we must firmly protect the independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity; ensure political stability and security, and maintain social order and safety; and promote foreign relations and international integration.

The General Secretary emphasized that 2025 is of paramount importance, being the final year of the 13th National Congress of the Party; the year of holding Party congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party; and also the year commemorating many important political events. The General Secretary requested that focusing on successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party be the highest goal of the entire Party, people, and army in 2025. This task will be carried out with the highest determination, the greatest effort, decisive action, with a focus on key areas, and with the most effective solutions, concentrating all resources and measures to strive to achieve and surpass the set goals, creating a foundation for a breakthrough in the next phase.

The General Secretary proposed holding Party congresses at all levels, leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party, focusing on two main areas: preparing documents for the Congress and preparing personnel. In particular, personnel work is a crucial task, the "key" of "keys," with decisive significance for the successful implementation of the Party's policies and guidelines to lead the country into a new era.

Along with that, it is necessary to implement the Central Committee's policy on summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW and streamlining and perfecting the organizational structure of the political system to ensure efficient and effective operation. The General Secretary stated that this is an urgent requirement and a particularly important task, eagerly awaited and welcomed by cadres, Party members, and the people, and has garnered strong support throughout society.

In the article "Radiant Vietnam" on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2025), General Secretary To Lam emphasized: Our Party was born with the mission of leading the revolution, representing the interests of the working class, the laboring people, and the entire Vietnamese nation. From the early days of the struggle for independence to becoming the ruling party, the Party has always been steadfast in its goal of national liberation, building socialism, and bringing prosperity and happiness to the people. The Party does not exist for its own benefit but operates for the benefit of the entire people. The Party's leadership power is not inherent but is granted by the people, a mandate from the people. The Party has no other purpose than to fight for the interests of the people, the nation, and the country. President Ho Chi Minh once emphasized: "The Party is not an organization for seeking power and wealth. It must fulfill the task of liberating the nation, making the country prosperous and strong, and bringing happiness to the people." Therefore, the Party must always maintain close ties with the people, taking the people's interests as its highest goal, and upholding its revolutionary nature and pioneering role.

Looking back at 95 years of the Party's development and growth, the General Secretary affirmed that we have every right to be proud and have complete confidence in the bright future of the Party and the nation.

“In 1945, when leading the entire nation to successfully carry out the August Revolution, our Party had only nearly 5,000 members. But with its correct policies, unwavering spirit, indomitable will, and patriotism, the Party led the people to glorious victory, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. By 1960, when the country entered the protracted resistance war against the US to save the nation, the number of Party members had increased to approximately 500,000, becoming the core leading the entire nation in the struggle for independence and national reunification.”

Today, with over 5.4 million Party members, our forces are constantly growing in both quantity and quality, capable of shouldering the responsibility of leading the country forward in the new era. Each Party member is a symbol of the faith, wisdom, and unity of the entire nation. The Communist Party of Vietnam, under the light of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought, will continue to excellently fulfill its historical mission. With unwavering faith in the strength of the Party and the unity of the entire nation, we affirm: The entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army will wholeheartedly overcome all difficulties and challenges, leading the country to rapid and sustainable development in the new era, building a glorious and bright future for the Vietnamese nation,” General Secretary To Lam emphasized.
