Rooftop solar power project at Hoang Tung Garment Company Limited.
Hoang Tung Garment Company Limited (Trung Chinh Commune, Nong Cong) currently has 2 sewing workshops with 200 workers. The company's products are exported to markets such as the US and Japan, with a quantity of 500,000 products/year. Director of Hoang Ba Tung Company said: With the goal of meeting the criteria of green production, clean production, energy saving, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, at the end of 2020, the company invested 13 billion VND to install a rooftop solar power system with a capacity of 990KWp at 2 workshops. Since the installation, the 2 sewing workshops have an additional layer of cover, heat protection for the space inside the workshop, creating a cool working environment, ensuring the health of workers, reducing pressure on the national grid, especially during the peak summer months. This installation also helps businesses always proactively source electricity to maintain production, not relying much on when the electricity industry takes turns cutting off power to reduce power loads. The use of renewable energy also increases the competitiveness of goods when applying green certification - a production standard that is increasingly focused on by demanding customers around the world.
On Le Lai Street, Dong Son Ward (Thanh Hoa City), the nem chua production facility of Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuyen's family also installed a rooftop solar power system. Although there are about 30 workers making nem inside the house, the air is quite cool thanks to many amenities such as fans, air conditioners, refrigerators, etc. The 100m2 solar panel was installed by Mr. Tuyen's family on the roof. Mr. Tuyen said: "After learning about the efficiency of solar power, in April 2024, I invested more than 200 million VND to install a 15KWp solar power system. After more than 2 months of use, it has brought clear results. Before installing the solar power system, my family had to spend 13 million VND on electricity each month, but now it has decreased to nearly 4 million VND. More importantly, since using solar power, my family's nem chua facility no longer has to worry about power outages."
Solar power is one of the energy sources chosen, encouraged and prioritized for widespread use by developed countries. Because, in addition to the advantage of being a renewable energy source and an inexhaustible eternal energy source, solar power also saves a lot of costs and contributes to environmental protection... Many businesses and households invest initial capital to install rooftop solar power systems and have promoted economic efficiency as well as contributed to reducing the load on the electricity industry. Up to now, in the province, there have been more than 600 customers who are businesses and households installing rooftop solar power systems, with a total capacity of 67,134.6KW. The total electricity output to the grid of the rooftop solar power system averages 63.2 million kWh/year, equivalent to a revenue of about 122.5 billion VND.
According to Thanh Hoa Electricity Company, the installation and use of rooftop solar power systems has helped reduce the load by 0.5% - 2.1% for 35kV, 22kV, 10kV lines and 0.4kV low voltage grid, contributing to reducing the load for 110kV stations and auxiliary transformer stations. At the same time, it helps households and businesses save a large amount of electricity costs when using the national grid. In addition, solar power is a green, clean, independent and environmentally friendly renewable energy source.
