For MoMo, data or technology is not a goal, but a tool to serve the goal. MoMo uses data to capture customer needs before they happen. For example, when a customer opens the MoMo app and does nothing, we can guess what the customer is going to do next and prepare everything best to make the customer experience smooth, said Mr. Thai Tri Hung.

According to Mr. Hung, the greatest pride of the technology team is that MoMo is a 100% Vietnamese product, 100% serving Vietnamese people. MoMo's growth rate is recorded at double digits every year, and accordingly, its technology capacity and technology team have also grown similarly. Currently, MoMo's Data and AI team has about 200 people, accounting for nearly 1/3 of the number of technology personnel at MoMo.

Mr. Hung shared about the common ideal model to create data value called "Data Wheel". Specifically, first we will have data. From data we will analyze better. From better analysis will create better products. From better products will have new users. From new users will have more data. According to Mr. Hung, the "Data Wheel" model is only effective when it rotates continuously and having a lot of data does not mean the results will be correct.

“From the perspective of a technology leader, to make good use of data, we must always be alert and understand that data provides many clues, but not all of them are accurate. To be successful in using data, we must always question and doubt all the data we have,” Mr. Hung added.

We must protect data as the company's assets, as the trust that customers have in us. To do that, MoMo designs a multi-layered protection system, including technology, human education system, and precise processes. Only then will we not betray the trust that customers have in MoMo," Mr. Hung emphasized in his sharing.
