Division 341 meets to celebrate 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation Day

On the morning of April 20, the Veterans Liaison Committee of Division 341 in Ha Tinh held a meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Attending the ceremony were leaders of departments, branches and sectors; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and nearly 500 officers and soldiers of Division 341 in Ha Tinh.

Division 341 is an infantry division established in 1972 with 12,000 troops; its mission is to participate in combat in the Southwestern border battlefield and carry out international missions in Cambodia with the motto "Go long, go deep, go to the day of total victory".

After a period of training and building in the direction of regularization and joint combat with large arms, the division quickly grew and matured, becoming one of the main divisions on the southern battlefield.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Thang - Head of the Veterans Liaison Committee of Division 341 presented a speech at the meeting.

The officers and soldiers of the division participated in many fierce battles in the battlefields of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue, Tay Nguyen, Da Nang; directly participated in the Xuan Loc and Trang Bom campaigns - key campaigns that opened the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign.

In addition, the Division also participated in fighting on the Cambodian battlefield; repelling Pol Pot Ieng Sary's army, restoring peace on the southwestern border.

Ha Tinh has more than 1,500 officers and soldiers participating in the division; of which, nearly 800 people heroically sacrificed on the battlefields, contributing significantly to the victory of the war to liberate the South and unify the country.

In 2005, Ha Tinh established the Provincial Veterans Liaison Committee of Division 341. With the support and assistance of the Provincial Veterans Association and the material and spiritual support of benefactors, the activities of the liaison committee have become increasingly systematic and orderly.

Since 2008, the liaison committee has connected resources to support the construction of 10 gratitude houses; helped many members in difficult circumstances, sick and ill; gave gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, policy families during holidays... with a total amount of billions of VND.

Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Nguyen The Hoan expressed his deep gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of the previous generation in general and the officers and soldiers of Division 341 in particular. At the same time, he hoped that the veterans would continue to promote their noble qualities and make worthy contributions to the cause of building the homeland and the country in the new era.

In the intimate atmosphere of the meeting, the veterans together reviewed the history and glorious tradition of Division 341 in the resistance war against America to save the country.

Veterans also shared their thoughts and aspirations; expressed their determination to maintain the image and noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, and vowed to promote their role in the cause of building the homeland and country in the new era.

At the program, the organizers presented 19 gifts worth 19 million VND to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and representatives of policy families.
