After the meeting on the morning of June 3, according to personal wishes and for health reasons, coach Nguyen Huy Hoang asked to withdraw from the position of "captain" of Song Lam Nghe An Club. This wish of Nguyen Huy Hoang was approved by the Board of Directors of the Vinh Stadium team.

Accordingly, the person chosen to replace coach Nguyen Huy Hoang to lead Song Lam Nghe An from the 11th round of V-League 2023 will be coach Phan Nhu Thuat. In his new position, coach Phan Nhu Thuat shared: “In the past time, coach Nguyen Huy Hoang and the Song Lam Nghe An coaching staff have made every effort. I would like to thank the club's Board of Directors for their trust and assignment. My colleagues and I will do our best to complete the task.”

After receiving the new assignment, coach Phan Nhu Thuat proposed assistants including: Pham Van Quyen, Pham Duc Anh, Dinh Van Dung and Pham Anh Tuan, who are currently on the payroll of the Song Lam Nghe An Youth Training Center.

After 10 rounds of V-League 2023, Song Lam Nghe An only won 9 points, ranked 11th on the rankings and is at risk of entering group B (competing for relegation) after phase 1.
