For over 10 years, the signature blue shirt of the V-Free Club has become a familiar color for students of Pham Van Dong University whenever the school organizes volunteer activities. It is not just a color, it is also a symbol of enthusiasm, sharing spirit and community responsibility.
The text printed on the shirt with the content "Connecting love, sharing happiness" is like a sincere commitment from young hearts who always carry the desire to contribute and spread love everywhere.
Among the outstanding members of the Club, Phan Thi Kim Tuyen (21 years old), a student of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, currently Vice President of the V-Free Club, is a typical face.

Tuyen expressed that in her first days at university, she dreamed of not only becoming a teacher with good expertise, but also someone who loves and cares for each student. She longed to become a shining example of personality and compassion, so that she could not only help the dreams of generations of students take flight, but also sow good values in their hearts, helping them grow both intellectually and spiritually.
“That’s why, when I was admitted to university, I chose to nurture my compassion through volunteer activities. After doing some research, I signed up to join the V-Free Club, with the desire to share my compassion with the community,” Tuyen said.
Over the past 3 years, Tuyen's footprints have been present in many remote areas, where life is still difficult. The young student has connected and created many meaningful activities for the community after school hours. From milk boxes, books, warm clothes brought to children in the highlands, to volunteer activities, helping the community has brought joy and hope to many people; so that good things between people always exist in life.
“At first, I just wanted to experience and step out of my comfort zone. However, the more I traveled and the more people I met, the more I realized that trips not only bring memories, but also a journey of true maturity. I learned the value of sharing, gratitude and the true meaning of volunteering in deprived areas, places that are still difficult and need help. From there, I can build a better lifestyle for myself,” Tuyen shared.

One of the recent volunteer activities organized by the V-Free Club, which left many impressions, is the “0 VND motorbike taxi” model, which specializes in providing free motorbike taxi services for candidates participating in the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University. In Quang Ngai, Pham Van Dong University is one of the exam locations with the largest number of candidates in the province. The club mobilized 100 volunteers who are students of the school to take and pick up candidates when needed; helping candidates arrive at the exam location on time and safely.
Nguyen Khang (21 years old), a student of the Faculty of Information Technology, a member of the V-Free Club, is an enthusiastic and passionate student. Khang shared that he still remembers a regrettable memory of a friend who missed the high school graduation exam. His close friend's car broke down on the way to the exam site. Because no one helped him in time, he arrived late and missed the opportunity to take this important exam. As a result, this friend had to wait until next year to retake the exam. "I think that sometimes just a timely act of help can change a person's future. If only someone had helped at that time, things would have been different," Khang expressed.
Since then, every time an exam comes, Khang is always willing to contribute to the Club to support candidates; at the same time, actively participate in activities and movements launched by the Club. “I love volunteer activities. Luckily, most of the programs are held on weekends, so I can proactively arrange my studies to fully participate. Every time I join V-Free, I feel like my life is more meaningful,” Khang expressed.
According to Master Nguyen Huynh Diem My, President of the Student Association of Pham Van Dong University, the school currently has 10 clubs, formed based on the functions and tasks of the faculties in the school. In particular, the V-Free Club, an abbreviation of the two English words Victory and Free, means freedom and victory; is a common home for students who love volunteer activities; always have the desire to volunteer for the community. The V-Free Club currently has more than 200 members, divided into 3 committees in charge, including: Movement, communication and logistics.

Each program is systematically planned by the Club, from content, budget to personnel assignment, suitable for specialized committees, with the best and most creative ways. Typically, the Club regularly organizes activities selling handmade goods, drinks, fast food on weekends and holidays to raise funds for the programs. Through these activities, the students are instilled with compassion, practice skills in organizing activities, and coordinating actions. These are necessary skills for the journey of maturity of students after graduation.
Secretary of the Pham Van Dong University Youth Union Cao Xuan Tin shared that V-Free is not only a gathering place for volunteer hearts, but also an extension of the union in spreading humanistic values, promoting the spirit of social responsibility and promoting the pioneering role of students in community activities.
From long-distance volunteer trips to carry out programs such as: “Spring of Love”, “Warm Winter Clothes”, “Green Summer”;… to humanitarian blood donation sessions or environmental campaigns, V-Free Club always plays the role of a pioneering force; contributing to spreading the image of Pham Van Dong University students as dynamic, responsible and full of aspirations to contribute.
