The conference is held in villages, sub-regions, residential groups, in communes, wards and towns where arrangements and mergers are being carried out.
Previously, on April 16, Son La Provincial Party Committee issued Conclusion 1587-KL/TU on the plan to arrange and reorganize commune-level administrative units in Son La province.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province issued Decision No. 866/QD-UBND dated April 16, 2025 on the Plan for implementing the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Son La province. An important step is to collect people's opinions on the plan for arranging and reorganizing commune-level administrative units.
Accordingly, the plan to rearrange and reorganize 200 commune, ward and town administrative units into 75 commune-level administrative units, including 67 communes and 8 wards, was agreed upon.

Seven communes that meet the requirements in terms of area, population and have distinct characteristics will be kept; two new communes will be merged from six units; three communes will be merged from five units; eight communes will be merged from four administrative units; 24 communes will be merged from three administrative units and 31 communes will be merged from two administrative units.
At the conference to collect people's opinions, Son La voters were thoroughly informed of the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units of the Central Government and Son La province; disseminated the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units and arranged according to the plan agreed upon by the Standing Committee of the Son La Provincial Party Committee.
According to the plan of the People's Committee of Son La province, districts, cities and towns must complete the collection of opinions by April 19 at the latest. The People's Committees at the district level will synthesize a report on the results of collecting opinions from local people and send it to the Department of Home Affairs by April 19 at the latest.
Based on the report on the results of public consultation, the Department of Home Affairs presided over and completed the Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units of the People's Committee of Son La province.
At the same time, issue a document requesting the People's Committees at district and commune levels to submit to the People's Councils at the same level for consideration and vote on the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units in the area, to be completed by April 20.

The People's Committee at district level reports the results together with the Resolution of the People's Council at district and commune levels to the Department of Home Affairs no later than April 21.
The Department of Home Affairs advised the People's Committee of Son La province to submit to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and vote on the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units in the province. It is expected to submit the dossier no later than April 23 and report to ask for opinions from the Steering Committee 398 of the Son La Provincial Party Committee and the Party Committee at the same level.
Complete the dossier of the Project to arrange and reorganize commune-level administrative units in Son La province and submit it to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Government no later than April 30.
