Son La responds to National Digital Transformation Day October 10

Implementing Resolution No. 17-NQ/TU dated August 31, 2021 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on digital transformation of Son La province in the period of 2021-2025 with a vision to 2030, the City has selected pillar areas, including building smart cities, friendly government and gradually moving towards digital government to prioritize infrastructure investment and focus on direction.

Currently, the City has invested and put into operation and use a free high-speed WIFI internet access system in the Northwest Square areas and one-stop departments from the City to communes, wards, and affiliated schools, serving the information exploitation needs of the people and State management work, professional tasks, etc.

The city has also attached smart tourism QR-Codes at historical and community tourism sites in the area; established more than 990 community digital transformation teams from the city to residential communities, contributing to extending the digital transformation arm to each household...

With the theme "Universalizing digital infrastructure and creating digital applications to develop the digital economy - New driving force for economic growth and labor productivity" of the National Digital Transformation Day 2024, the City has coordinated with telecommunications enterprises: Viettel Son La, VNPT Son La, Mobifone Son La to focus on directing communes, wards, groups, villages, and digital transformation teams to "Go to every alley, knock on every door", instructing each person to use services and applications to develop the digital economy.

Promote the dissemination of 2G shutdown and directly support each citizen to install and use digital applications; deploy support and give free smartphones to customers using 2G phones... By the end of September 30, Son La city had popularized smartphones for 26,296 households, reaching over 99.5%, contributing to preparing a solid foundation for the digital transformation process from digital economy, digital society to digital government of the City.

At the program, the City Police also reported on the implementation of the Project "Renting camera system services to monitor security, urban order and traffic safety in the City", applying information technology and artificial intelligence to support the improvement of the effectiveness of administrative management and traffic monitoring, ensuring security, order and social safety in the City.

Representatives of the City Police and Viettel Son La signed a contract to rent a security camera system service.

Comrade Tran Cong Chinh, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, spoke at the program.

Speaking at the program, the leader of the City People's Committee requested telecommunications enterprises to continue to accompany the City in implementing digital transformation; each citizen should actively and proactively participate in the digital transformation process; effectively apply digital transformation to labor, production and business, so that each citizen can become a digital citizen, a subject of the digital economy and digital society, contributing to the successful construction of the digital government model of Son La city.

On this occasion, Viettel Son La, VNPT Son La, Mobifone Son La gave away free 4G phones to customers using 2G phones in the area.
