To date, Muong La district has had 10 OCOP products, including 3 4-star OCOP products and 7 3-star OCOP products. In 2024, the district will continue to support the development of 4 new OCOP products.

Standing out in the OCOP product development movement is Ta Bu commune with its delicious local mango varieties. In 2021, Ta Bu commune was supported in piloting grafting and improving local mangoes. As a result, the improved mango varieties have outstanding productivity and quality. Based on the advantages of each locality, the district has supported cooperatives and people to build OCOP product registration dossiers, build and register trademarks, convert to digital, build websites, register barcodes and traceability stamps.

In November 2022, Mr. Lo Van Hinh, Ket village, mobilized households in the commune to establish Minh Trong Ta Bu Cooperative, linking to build a brand for local specialty products. Up to now, the Cooperative has 7 main members and 10 satellite members, planting and caring for 17 hectares of mango, including 10 hectares of local mango and 7 hectares of Taiwanese mango.

The Board of Directors of the Cooperative has developed a production plan; promoted and mobilized members to apply scientific and technical advances in the process of caring for, harvesting and preserving products. Members actively learn and visit models to gain more experience in production development. The Cooperative is also guided by the district's professional agencies to produce according to VietGAP process; supported in building and designing packaging, labels, and traceability stamps for products...

Mr. Lo Van Hinh said that due to production following the VietGAP process, in April 2024, the cooperative's local mango products were recognized as 3-star OCOP products. This is a motivation for members to actively apply science and technology, improve productivity and quality of mango products. In the last mango crop, the cooperative sold more than 25 tons of fruit, earning nearly 400 million VND.

Local mango products of Minh Trong Ta Bu Cooperative were recognized as 3-star OCOP products in April 2024. Thanks to strict adherence to the production process, Ta Bu mangoes are of high quality, do not use chemical pesticides, and ensure food hygiene and safety. With a distinctive flavor and beautiful appearance, Ta Bu mangoes are favored by the market and sell for high prices.

In addition to mangoes, Minh Trong Ta Bu Cooperative also cooperates with businesses to pilot planting 5 hectares of Queen pineapple and other fruit trees. The Cooperative aims to produce organically, improve productivity and product quality, and at the same time cooperate to find stable output.

The success in developing the Muong La mango brand in Ta Bu commune is a testament to the attention of the local government, the initiative of the people and the efforts of cooperatives in building and enhancing the value of local agricultural products. This is also the motivation for Muong La to continue to focus on developing the fruit industry, building brands for agricultural products, contributing to promoting sustainable rural economic development.
