Exciting Business-Student Connection Day of the University of Technology

NDO - On December 21, at the National Economics University, the School of Technology - National Economics University organized the 2024 Business-Student Connection Festival (NCT Job Fair 2024) with the participation of about 30 companies in many fields and nearly 1,000 students.

The event not only creates opportunities for students to learn and orient their careers, but also provides businesses with an opportunity to access potential human resources in fields such as information technology, data science, artificial intelligence, risk prediction, and system administration - professions that are in high demand today.

Sharing at the festival, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President of the National Economics University emphasized that in the history of nearly 70 years of formation and development, improving training quality has always been in the strategic orientation of the National Economics University.

The school’s training results have been recognized by many international accreditation and ranking organizations. To achieve that success, there is a significant contribution from the “public sector” - businesses and state management agencies.

When starting to build a training program, the National Economics University always takes a very important step, which is to ask for opinions from agencies and businesses to design a suitable training program, ensuring the quality of graduates meets the requirements of the labor market.

“Today’s business-student connection festival is a meaningful event. For the school, this is a process of checking the quality of training through the evaluation of employers to have a plan to improve the training program in the future. For students, especially third and fourth year students, this is a good opportunity for them to know what skills and knowledge they need to continue to improve in order to have the best job opportunities and the highest income after graduation,” said Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong.

Speaking with Nhan Dan Newspaper reporters, Dr. Nguyen Quang Huy, Principal of the School of Technology, said that among the many goals of the school, cooperation and connection with businesses is identified as an essential factor for development and enhancing competitiveness.

The school has set out many action plans to do that, including regularly organizing career seminars and networking events to exchange and update knowledge and experience for students and lecturers.

In the first time organized at the school level, this year's Business-Student Connection Day has the participation of many large companies such as EY, KPMG, PwC, VNPAY, Aptech, MISA Joint Stock Company, Bravo Software Joint Stock Company, risk management departments of Vietcombank, Techcombank...

The program aims to create opportunities for businesses and students to sit down and exchange directly with each other, thereby helping the school's students learn and grasp the requirements for skills and knowledge from future employers, and have appropriate preparation plans.

“In addition, this is also an opportunity for students to look for job opportunities after graduation because many companies participate in the fair not only to provide advice and share experiences in various fields but also to directly recruit workers, both interns and full-time,” said Dr. Nguyen Quang Huy.

As one of the enterprises that has had a close cooperative relationship with the National Economics University for many years, MISA Joint Stock Company - a unit providing information technology services and software solutions for enterprises, participated in NCT Job Fair 2024 with the desire to bring internship and job opportunities to technology students, and at the same time discuss more about the knowledge and soft skills that students need to prepare before entering the business environment.

“MISA’s criteria is to select people who are suitable for the environment and recruitment needs. MISA is currently recruiting for sales staff and hopes to find young people who are passionate about business, enthusiastic and passionate. In addition to the specialized knowledge learned at school, students should learn and grasp some of the current technologies used in the market, under the guidance of teachers, depending on each specific profession,” said Ms. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Head of MISA’s Training Cooperation Department.

Coming to the Business-Student Connection Day, Nguyen Phuong Thao, a final year student majoring in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, University of Technology, shared: “Not only me but all the students participating in the festival want to find a “landing place” after graduation, companies that are suitable for their own abilities. My future goal is to work in the field of finance and banking, so I will go to the consulting counters of companies related to this field to find opportunities for myself.”

According to Phuong Thao, this is a very meaningful event and should be held regularly to create a bridge between businesses and students, because many companies do not publicize recruitment positions on online platforms, and networking days are an opportunity for students about to graduate like her to grasp that information.

Through the event, the School of Technology - National Economics University hopes to contribute to building a culture of cooperation between businesses and universities, passing on the flame of passion to the young generation.

NCT Job Fair 2024 is organized into two sessions: Networking Event in the morning and Workshop in the afternoon. Networking Event is where businesses meet, exchange, and consult directly with students, and it is also where students ask questions about careers, receive advice on professional skills, and submit recruitment applications to businesses. In the afternoon, students can participate in 3 skill-sharing workshops on: Office IT skills, CV writing and job interview skills, and AI skills at work.

Through this event, the School of Technology, National Economics University hopes to contribute to building a culture of cooperation between businesses and universities, and passing on the flame of passion to the younger generation.
