In recent times, ethnic work in Dien Bien province has had many positive changes, achieving comprehensive achievements in politics, economy, culture, society, national defense, security, and foreign affairs; promoting the strength of ethnic solidarity, contributing to the cause of national construction and defense, consolidating the trust of ethnic minorities in the Party and State, focusing on the National Target Program on socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030, phase I from 2021 to 2025.

The contest was organized to contribute to raising awareness and understanding of the field of ethnic affairs; sense of responsibility of cadres, civil servants and public employees in ethnic minority and mountainous areas of the province; promoting legal knowledge through dramatization, improving propaganda skills to effectively implement the Party's policies and the State's legal policies for people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. At the contest, the teams went through 4 rounds, including: Greeting; Knowledge test; Handling situations; Propaganda skits, suitable for the customs, habits and traditional culture of ethnic minorities in the province.

Thereby, affirming the position, role and effectiveness of each cadre and civil servant directly working on ethnic affairs; cadres and civil servants working on dissemination and education of law, culture, society, information and communication, village and hamlet cadres; Party Committees, Village and hamlet chiefs, Youth Union, Women's Union, Front Working Committee, prestigious people among ethnic minorities, good production workers... promptly propagating, explaining, analyzing, disseminating policies and guidelines to ethnic minorities and mountainous areas, promoting exchange and learning, enhancing understanding and solidarity among ethnic minorities, sharing good experiences, effective and suitable operating models of districts, towns and cities in the province.

Speaking at the opening of the contest, Mr. Giang A Dinh, Head of the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Dien Bien province, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest, said: Implementing the direction of the Ethnic Minorities Committee on organizing the Contest to learn about the law on ethnic affairs in 2024-2025, on June 26, 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 2875/KH-UBND on Organizing the Contest to learn about the law on ethnic affairs in Dien Bien province in 2024; 10/10 districts, towns and cities in the province have chosen to establish and organize training to prepare to participate in the contest as required. The Organizing Committee of the Contest hopes that the Contest will be a place to meet, exchange, learn from experiences, contribute to raising awareness, enhancing understanding of the field of ethnic affairs of each cadre and civil servant working in ethnic affairs; Officials and civil servants working in the dissemination and education of law, culture, society, information and communication, village and hamlet officials: Party Committees, Village and hamlet chiefs, Youth Union, Women's Union, Front Working Committee, prestigious people among ethnic minorities, good workers and producers, solidarity of ethnic minorities.

From the Competition, cadres, civil servants, and people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the province continue to understand the law on ethnic affairs, focusing on the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030, phase 1 from 2021 to 2025, legal provisions directly related to the lives of ethnic minorities such as: Prevention of social evils; prevention of domestic violence; gender equality; promoting the role of the People in protecting national defense, security, protecting national borders, protecting forests and ecological environment; other policies and laws directly related to ethnic minority and mountainous areas, in accordance with the actual situation of the locality.

After the contest, each contestant will accumulate many good lessons and valuable experiences to further promote their proactive and creative role in the work with the goal of promoting propaganda work, raising awareness of the meaning and importance of ethnic work and implementation of ethnic policies; detecting and accurately and promptly reflecting the positive aspects, advanced examples as well as limitations and shortcomings in ethnic work and implementation of ethnic policies, thereby proposing increasingly better implementation solutions.
