This year's festival begins with a worship ceremony at Bang - Muong temple in Khong village, Chieng Khoa commune, with the purpose of commemorating the story of two beautiful and talented Thai girls who taught the villagers how to farm, weave, dance xoe, sing pi, etc. From early morning, the villages and the commune People's Committee prepared sumptuous feasts for the shaman to perform with the following contents: Invite the local god, river god, mountain god and Nang Ban to attend the festival, celebrate with the villagers and bless the villagers with a year of favorable weather and bountiful crops.

During the festival, there were many cultural exchange activities, sports competitions, and exciting folk games such as: Tug of war, shuttlecock throwing, stick pushing... with the participation of more than 150 athletes from the villages.
