The joy of the entire nation in this year's National Day "triumphant song" erupted in "news of victory," as the whole country joyfully inaugurated a key project - the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi ( Hung Yen ).

In just six months, a remarkable feat was accomplished: a 519km-long "ultra-high voltage" power line with 1,177 pylons traversing mountains and forests. This enormous undertaking, which energy experts had predicted would take 3-4 years to complete, was brilliantly accomplished by the people of Thanh Hoa province.

Nearly 64 hectares of land were reclaimed in a consensual, unified, and urgent manner – making Thanh Hoa one of the top three provinces in land clearance. And then, overcoming the challenges of the harsh central region's "rainy pockets and scorching hot pans," 299 power pole foundations stood tall and proud. 131km of "ultra-high voltage" power lines and substations were put into operation, bringing electricity flowing abundantly across the country.

In that great achievement, mixed with the "blood and tears" of tens of thousands of "warriors" in the electricity industry, there was the "great rear support" of Thanh Hoa province for the "front lines". The silent achievements of businesses, contractors, and workers from Thanh Hoa who silently endured rain and sun to erect poles and lay wires across the most complex and treacherous terrains were recorded, ensuring the entire power line was inaugurated on schedule.

Along with the remarkable 500kV circuit 3, in 2024, many key energy projects of significant importance to the transmission and supply of energy for Thanh Hoa and the North were put into operation. These include the 220kV Nam Sum - Nong Cong transmission line; the 220kV Nghi Son Economic Zone substation and connecting lines. While the 220kV Nam Sum - Nong Cong transmission line came into operation, Thanh Hoa and the North benefited from cheap electricity from the Nam Sum Hydropower Plant complex (Laos), meeting the increasing load demand, the 220kV Nghi Son Economic Zone substation and connecting lines will directly complete important infrastructure, meeting the operational needs of many large factories in this key economic zone.

Thanh Hoa is on its way to becoming a model province, a new growth pole in the North of Vietnam, requiring high-quality energy sources for the development of dynamic economic zones, heavy industries, and modern industrial parks. Completing key national energy projects will not only meet the urgent existing consumption needs but also satisfy Thanh Hoa's load growth demand, which is higher than the national average of 10-12%, creating an investment environment with synchronized infrastructure that attracts investors. As Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated at the inauguration ceremony of the 500kV transmission line, circuit 3: "This project is of significant importance to businesses and foreign investors in ensuring electricity supply, especially in high-tech fields. We have confidence in Vietnam's determination to 'keep our promises, fulfill our commitments, and achieve concrete, measurable results.'"

With urgent directives and decisive action, "overcoming the sun, conquering the rain, and not being defeated by storms," ​​the end of 2024 also marked the completion of many key transportation projects in Thanh Hoa, promoting regional and inter-regional connectivity and creating many new opportunities for prosperity!

The "mega-project" of the Van Thien to Ben En road has been technically opened to traffic just before the New Year, creating opportunities for "Ha Long of Thanh Hoa" to attract tourists and rise to the level of an ideal national-level eco-tourism destination. In particular, the completed road will further strengthen the resolve of major investors in the tourism industry to develop the Ben En tourist area, creating new growth momentum for the southwestern districts of Thanh Hoa.

The "mega-project" of the Van Thien to Ben En road is being constructed day and night at a rapid pace to ensure technical traffic opening before the New Year.

Although not completed ahead of schedule due to the impact of typhoons No. 3 and No. 4, the Xuan Quang bridge project, with a length of 1,042m and 25 spans, was completed before the New Year 2025, in accordance with the construction contract, moving towards technical opening to traffic before the Lunar New Year.

Not only does it have significant social benefits – connecting the two banks of the Ma River for the residents living there, but the components of the project to connect National Highway 1A with National Highway 45 from Hoang Xuan commune (Hoang Hoa district) to Thieu Long commune (Thieu Hoa district) will also shorten travel time between the western districts of the province via Thieu Hoa and Yen Dinh districts to National Highway 1A; reduce traffic pressure on National Highway 45 and National Highway 217 to National Highway 1A; and connect Hoang Hoa and Hau Loc districts with the North-South Expressway.

This also serves as a foundation to further strengthen the province's determination to develop a leading modern industrial park, with the best news being that the Prime Minister has approved the investment plan for the WHA Smart Technology Industrial Park - Thanh Hoa project by the end of 2024. WHA Group is a leading Thai investor in industrial park infrastructure investment and service development.

Logistics and integrated utility solutions stated that it will prioritize attracting foreign businesses in supporting industries, high-tech industries with advanced management skills, and modern production technologies. This will increase the capacity and skills of managers and workers, making a significant contribution to Thanh Hoa province's economic growth and promoting urbanization.

In 2024, amidst countless challenges, Thanh Hoa province achieved seemingly impossible goals, especially in terms of GRDP and budget revenue. This achievement serves as a stepping stone towards the goals of 2025, with renewed determination, confidence, and motivation to "turn the impossible into the possible"!
