500kV line circuit 3 through Thanh Hoa.
The joy of the entire nation in the "song of triumph" on National Day this year burst into "the news of victory", when the whole country joyfully inaugurated the key project - 500kV line circuit 3 from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen).
Only 6 months for a miracle of a 519km long “super high voltage” transmission line, with 1,177 “mountain-crossing” and “forest-crossing” column foundations. The “huge” amount of work that energy experts predicted would take 3-4 years to complete, the tasks and responsibilities placed on the “shoulders” of Thanh Hoa have been completed excellently.
That is nearly 64 hectares of land recovered in a consensual, unified, and urgent manner - making Thanh Hoa one of the three leading provinces in site clearance. And then, overcoming the challenge of "rain bags, fire pans" of the harsh Central region, 299 foundations stood tall and proud. 131km of "super high voltage" power lines and stations were operating smoothly, bringing abundant electricity flow throughout the inter-region.
In that great achievement, mixed with the “blood and tears” of tens of thousands of “warriors” in the electricity industry, there is the “great rear” of Thanh Hoa province supporting the “front line”. There is a record of the silent feats of Thanh Hoa enterprises, contractors, and workers who have silently “braved the rain and sun” to erect poles and pull wires through the most complex and dangerous terrains so that the entire power line can be inaugurated on time.
Along with the 500kV circuit 3 miracle, also in 2024, many key energy projects of great significance to the demand for energy transmission and supply for Thanh Hoa and the North have been put into operation. These are the 220kV Nam Sum - Nong Cong line; the 220kV Nghi Son Economic Zone transformer station and connecting lines. While the 220kV Nam Sum - Nong Cong line is put into operation, Thanh Hoa and the North will benefit from cheap electricity from the Nam Sum Hydropower Plant cluster (Laos), meeting the increasing load demand, the 220kV Nghi Son Economic Zone transformer station and connecting lines will directly complete important infrastructure, meeting the operating needs of many large factories in this key economic zone.
Thanh Hoa is on the way to becoming a model province, a new growth pole in the North of the country, in need of high-quality energy sources for the development of dynamic economic zones, heavy industries, and modern industrial parks (IPs). Completing key national energy projects not only meets the urgent existing consumption needs, but also meets the demand for Thanh Hoa's load growth higher than the national average of 10-12%, creating an investment environment with synchronous infrastructure, attracting investors. As stated by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the inauguration ceremony of the 500kV Line 3: "The project is of great significance to businesses and foreign investors in ensuring electricity supply, especially in high-tech fields, believing in the determination of the Vietnamese side "what is said is done, what is committed must be done, what is done, what is done will have specific, measurable, and quantifiable results".
Urgent direction, drastic action, "overcoming the sun, winning the rain, not losing to the wind and storm", the end of 2024 is also the time when Thanh Hoa completes many key traffic projects, promoting regional and inter-regional connectivity, bringing many new opportunities for prosperity!
That is the "big project" of Van Thien - Ben En road which has been technically opened to traffic before the New Year, opening up opportunities for "Ha Long of Thanh Hoa" to attract tourists, reaching the level worthy of the title of ideal eco-tourism area of national stature. In particular, the completed route will further consolidate a "push" to promote the determination to exploit Ben En tourist area of "big" investors in the tourism industry, creating new growth momentum for the southwestern districts of Thanh Hoa.
Although it did not reach the finish line ahead of schedule as directed due to the impact of storms No. 3 and No. 4, but before the New Year 2025, the Xuan Quang bridge project with a length of 1,042m and 25 spans was also completed before the New Year according to the construction contract, moving towards technical traffic opening before the spring.
Not only having the meaning of connecting the joy of residents on both banks of the Ma River, the items of the project connecting National Highway 1A with National Highway 45 from Hoang Xuan commune (Hoang Hoa) to Thieu Long commune (Thieu Hoa) will simultaneously shorten the travel time between the western districts of the province through Thieu Hoa and Yen Dinh districts with National Highway 1A; reduce traffic pressure through National Highway 45, National Highway 217 to National Highway 1A; connect Hoang Hoa and Hau Loc districts with the North-South expressway.
