Soc Trang: Developing science and technology, innovation, realizing the 8% growth target

48 tasks, 7 groups of solutions for science and technology development

At the workshop, delegates were informed about the results of science and technology activities, innovation and digital transformation in Soc Trang province in the past time. At the same time, they listened to reports on issues such as science, technology and innovation development, digital transformation of agriculture and environment sectors contributing to the determination to promote economic growth of 8%; coordinate the implementation of scientific research tasks to serve planning work; operate and develop the province's socio-economic development; build a roadmap for digital transformation of enterprises, the current status of science and technology activities; innovation and digital transformation, breakthroughs in the coming time.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province Tran Van Lau stated that the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation is a great opportunity to promote science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in all sectors and fields from state management to socio-economic activities of the province.

Accordingly, Soc Trang province has issued Plan No. 34 dated February 14, 2025 and over 20 documents for implementation, identifying 48 tasks and 7 groups of solutions. The tasks and solutions are implemented in the spirit of "5 clear", attaching responsibility to the head in implementing tasks within the assigned functions and fields. The total estimated cost of implementing the task of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in 2025 is about 175 billion VND.

Better social governance, increased labor productivity

Speaking at the workshop, Secretary of Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee Lam Van Man acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions, sharing and advice of experts, institutes, schools and businesses. The workshop is very important, an opportunity for the locality to meet and exchange on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

The Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee shared the opinion of General Secretary To Lam that developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation is a mandatory choice, the only way to develop the country and improve people's lives. Therefore, it is necessary to strongly implement to achieve the two highest goals of better social governance and higher labor productivity.

To successfully and comprehensively implement the goals and tasks of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, contributing to achieving the economic growth target of 8% or more, leaders at all levels need to actively promote the application of science and technology in production, effectively implement tasks and solutions to effectively support businesses, focus on businesses in applying scientific and technological research results to improve productivity and product quality, promote the strong development of start-ups and innovation in businesses, and encourage businesses to take the lead in digital transformation and digital economic development.

At the same time, focus on developing information technology infrastructure; e-government, online public services, digitizing paper documents, administrative procedure settlement results, maintaining, developing and stably operating the Information Security Monitoring Center, Data Integration Center and Provincial Operation Monitoring Center...
