Through information reflected on social networks about the doctor's substandard behavior, the Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has stepped in to verify.
On December 23, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said it had received information from a young female patient's relative on Facebook about the unprofessional behavior of a male doctor when performing an ultrasound of the thyroid, heart, and abdomen. This incident occurred at the General Clinic of the Y Dao Medical Services Consulting Investment Joint Stock Company, located at 46-48 Ngo Quyen, Ward 5, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City.
Although the department has not yet received any petitions or feedback related to the incident from patients or relatives, in order to promptly grasp information, verify and correct, the Department of Health Inspectorate has inspected the above clinic and related individuals.
Through work, the doctor was reported to have the appropriate qualifications and practice license. However, the clinic was found guilty because the practitioner did not register to practice medical examination and treatment according to regulations. Regarding the doctor accused of abuse, he admitted to performing an ultrasound on the patient's thyroid, heart and abdomen. At the time of the ultrasound, there were 2 female staff in the room and the patient did not object or complain during the procedure. However, the patient's relatives later reported on Facebook about the doctor's unprofessional behavior.
The Department of Health requires medical practitioners to strictly comply with legal regulations and professional ethics to ensure safety, respect and protect the rights of patients, especially women and children. Violators will be strictly handled according to legal regulations and condemned for violating medical ethics standards.
