On the afternoon of May 29th, the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province and the People's Committee of Bao Lam district (Lam Dong province) conducted an on-site inspection of an illegally constructed complex of 22 terraced houses in Hamlet 10A (Loc Thanh commune, Bao Lam district). The inspection team included Mr. Bui Quang Son, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province, and Mr. Dong Van Truong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bao Lam district, along with representatives from various specialized departments of Bao Lam district and leaders of the People's Committee of Loc Thanh commune.

Upon inspection, authorities noted that from the beginning of April 2024 until now, following reports from numerous media outlets regarding violations related to the aforementioned illegally constructed townhouse complex, comprising 22 houses (17 of which are built, 1 is a steel-framed house, and 4 have completed foundations), all have failed to comply with the regulations of the Housing Law and the Construction Law.
Authorities also noted that all construction activities in the area have been temporarily suspended. Inspection and supervision are being carried out regularly and continuously by the Bao Lam District People's Committee, directing relevant departments and the Loc Thanh Commune People's Committee to ensure compliance with regulations.
Following an on-site inspection, the Department of Construction worked with the People's Committee of Bao Lam District and the People's Committee of Loc Thanh Commune to complete the relevant documents and report to the People's Committee of Lam Dong Province.
Previously, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee directed the Bao Lam District People's Committee to promptly identify violations, prepare dossiers, and carry out administrative procedures for handling violations related to the construction of houses in the aforementioned area and location, in accordance with the regulations in Government Decree No. 16/2022/ND-CP dated January 28, 2022, on administrative penalties for construction violations and other relevant legal provisions; and to be responsible for resolving any resulting consequences in accordance with the law.
The Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee also directed the Bao Lam District People's Committee to conduct a review and take strict disciplinary action against the leaders of Loc Thanh Commune People's Committee, as well as relevant organizations and individuals, for their responsibility in the state management of construction in the locality that led to the aforementioned incident, in accordance with regulations.
The People's Committee of Lam Dong province has assigned the Department of Construction to regularly inspect, supervise, and urge the People's Committee of Bao Lam district to implement the above-mentioned content.

The results of implementing the District People's Committee's directives regarding violations (cases that have been processed, cases that have not yet been processed) will be reported to the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department ; the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department will send a working group to conduct on-site inspections in the near future.
