The Vietnam U22 team will face the Indonesia U22 team at the 2023 SEA Games.

Coach Indra Sjafri is the man who led the Indonesian U.22 team to win the gold medal in men's football at the 2023 SEA Games after a long 32-year wait. The 62-year-old coach continues to be entrusted with leading the country's youth teams in the 2025 U.20 Asian Championship currently taking place in China, and is preparing the team to defend their title at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand in December.

However, at the U.20 Asian Championship, coach Indra Sjafri's team performed poorly, failing to live up to expectations, losing two matches – 0-3 against Iran and 1-3 against Uzbekistan – and being eliminated early. Their remaining match against U.20 Yemen on February 19th was merely a formality.
