20 years ago, on August 12, 2004, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province issued Decision No. 81/QD-UBND to establish the Department of Posts and Telecommunications, now the Department of Information and Communications. Over the past 20 years, many generations of cadres have succeeded each other, together overcoming difficulties and challenges; building a united and strong unit; developing the Information and Communications sector.
Currently, the Department of Information and Communications has 4 departments, 1 affiliated public service unit (Information and Communications Technology Center) with 46 officers, civil servants, public employees and workers. The Party cell currently has 26 party members, and has been a clean and strong party cell for 20 consecutive years.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the tradition and evaluated the important achievements that the Department of Information and Communications has achieved in recent times.
In particular, state management of press, publishing, printing, distribution, grassroots information, and foreign information is implemented closely and effectively.
In order to promote access and application of achievements of the 4th industrial revolution, especially the application and development of digital technology, the Department of Information and Communications has advised on the issuance of many important policies, especially on digital transformation.
The Department of Information and Communications is also the standing agency of the province's incident response team, regularly reviewing, maintaining and supporting units in the province to promptly handle cyber attacks and promptly detect risks of information security loss; detect, warn and handle units with computers infected with malware for units and localities.
Former Director of the Department of Information and Communications - Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phu reviewed the unit's traditions in the early years of its establishment .
State management of post and telecommunications, internet, broadcasting and radio frequencies has made significant progress.
At the same time, career activities are innovated, quality is improved, and services are provided to meet the requirements of agencies, departments, branches, and units inside and outside the province.
In particular, the whole province has over 110 enterprises operating in the field of information and communication. These enterprises have created stable jobs for over 2,500 workers, with an average income of over 8 million VND/person/month.

The Deputy Minister of Information and Communications suggested that the Department of Information and Communications, with its leading role in digital transformation activities in the locality, needs to be more pioneering, more determined, and more committed to inspiring, motivating, promoting, and accelerating the application of digital technology to open up new economic growth spaces, contributing to sustainable development in the locality. These are tasks that require outstanding efforts from Ha Tinh to create a breakthrough in digital economic development, in which the advisory, leading, and coordinating role of the Department of Information and Communications is very important. The 20-year journey will be an important premise, a solid foundation for the unit to step into its 20th year with a new mindset, new strength, and new aspirations, effectively implementing the application of digital technology to develop the digital economy in Ha Tinh.

At the same time, he requested the unit to continue to promote the tradition of the past 20 years, always be united, make efforts, be responsible, and determined in advising, directing, and leading sectors and localities to perform tasks under the Department's management; continue to review related plans that the sector has advised, consider adding contents suitable to practical requirements.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Information and Communications to continue to closely follow the direction, criteria and tasks issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications to focus on implementation. In particular, it is necessary to continuously follow the contents of Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee on focusing on leadership and direction of digital transformation in Ha Tinh province for the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030, to focus on deployment and implementation. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also noted that currently, a number of mechanisms and policies of the Government and ministries and branches have changed, so the Department of Information and Communications needs to continue to closely follow to focus on implementation, contributing to the development of the province.
