Accordingly, the project will include the digitization of documents, records, artifacts, relics, intangible cultural heritage, and documentary heritage; the development of a software system for managing Hoi An's cultural heritage; investment in information technology equipment; and training, technology transfer, and user guidance. The total investment for the project is estimated at 8 billion VND, to be implemented in the period 2025-2026.
The digitization and creation of a digital database on Hoi An's cultural heritage aims to serve the purposes of archiving, compiling, managing, researching, preserving, exploiting, and sustainably promoting Hoi An's cultural values.
This also helps improve efficiency and ensure consistency within the city's overall digital government. Through this, the plan for digital transformation associated with building a smart city in Hoi An by 2025, with a vision to 2030, will be gradually completed in accordance with the resolution of the City People's Council.
