On October 28, after VietNamNet newspaper published an article reflecting on the current situation of teacher shortage, many schools had to temporarily suspend some subjects, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee issued a document assigning the Department of Education and Training and districts to inspect, verify and clarify.

The document of the Department of Education and Training sent to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and VietNamNet Newspaper, confirmed that the content of the newspaper's reflection is correct. To overcome the above situation, the Department of Education and Training has urged districts, towns and cities in the area to continue to organize recruitment and selection of contract teachers to supplement the number of teachers lacking.

While waiting for recruitment results, localities continue to implement flexible solutions, such as: teaching extra periods, extra hours, inter-school and inter-level teaching to ensure implementation of the program according to regulations.

Currently, the Department of Education and Training is coordinating with the Department of Home Affairs to advise the Provincial People's Committee to propose that the Central Government assign additional educational staff in 2025 to the province. At the same time, it is proposed that the province assign the quota of contract workers as teachers and administrative staff in 2025 to educational institutions, ensuring the prescribed quota.

Previously, as reported, since the beginning of the school year, many schools in mountainous districts of Thanh Hoa have not been able to arrange teaching of English, IT, and Music due to lack of teachers.

The reason for this, according to local authorities, is the shortage of teachers, difficulty in finding sources of recruitment, and lack of funds to pay for overtime...
