Le Hong Phong High School (Hai Phong) has implemented a plan to organize an experience trip for 12th grade students with a budget of 2.83 million VND/student.

According to this department, the experiential activities of grade 12 students, school year 2023 - 2024, are part of the 2006 general education program, the content of extracurricular educational activities, taught by homeroom teachers...

Schools use that lesson to organize collective and experiential activities. When applying, if the school unit has the consent and cooperation of the students' parents, it will organize experiential activities outside of school; otherwise, it will organize those activities inside the school.

The Hai Phong Department of Education and Training only agrees to allow schools to organize experiential activities for 12th grade students in the 2023-2024 school year outside of school when the unit ensures the consensus and cooperation of the students' parents, with appropriate funding contributions.

Currently, Le Hong Phong High School has implemented a policy of organizing an experiential program for 12th grade students; there are separate plans for students who have the conditions, or do not have the conditions to participate...

However, due to public opinion on the issue of funding when the school organizes experiential activities for students outside of school, the school will continue to seek opinions from parents. If they continue to not receive consensus, the school will widely inform parents; at the same time, report to the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training to stop the planned experiential activities outside of school and change the form of experiential activities to in-school.

Previously, Le Hong Phong High School planned to organize for 12th grade students to study, experience, and teach integrated topics associated with national cultural heritage in the subjects: literature, history, geography, and national defense education in the 2023-2024 school year.

The "Following the course of history" experience journey for grade 12 students of the school was organized for 3 days and 2 nights (from March 13 to 15) in the provinces: Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri. The cost for each student is 2.83 million VND.

The program's co-organizer is the STEAM Education and Experience Center VECTOR (under Nguyen Kim Education Company, located at Nui Doi Town, Kien Thuy District, Hai Phong City).

The school submitted this plan to the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training at the end of January. By the end of February, the department had a document agreeing with the school's plan.

According to Mr. Dinh Hong Diep, Principal of Le Hong Phong High School, experiential learning is not compulsory for students to participate, the contribution of 2.83 million VND is to serve the expenses of food, accommodation, and transportation during the journey. Up to this point, the school has surveyed parents and 423/480 students have registered to participate in the experiential learning program.

After the school widely announced to parents and publicly posted information and plans on the school's website for everyone to know, some parents of grade 12 students disagreed and shared on social media, saying that the cost of the experience was expensive and the time for the experience was not suitable because March is the time when grade 12 students focus on reviewing for the high school graduation exam and university entrance exam.

Immediately after receiving the above information, the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training directed Le Hong Phong High School to continue to ask for parents' opinions to create the highest consensus.
