Vinh Phuc leads the country in exam scores

According to the analysis of high school graduation exam scores announced by the Ministry of Education and Training this morning (July 17), Vinh Phuc continues to be the leading province in the country in high school graduation exam scores.

Specifically, in Vinh Phuc, the average high school graduation exam score this year is 7.464 points. This is the second consecutive year that this province has led among 63 provinces and cities. Following are Nam Dinh with 7.369 points, Ninh Binh with 7.358 points, Binh Duong with 7.32 points...

This year, the top 10 provinces in the country all have an average high school graduation exam score of over 7. In addition to the 4 provinces mentioned above, there are also Bac Ninh, Ha Tinh, Hai Phong, Phu Tho, Ha Nam, and An Giang.

Last year, according to the analysis results, Vinh Phuc was also the locality with the highest score in the high school graduation exam with 7,219 points. Following were Binh Duong, Nam Dinh, and Ninh Binh provinces with average scores of 7,161; 7,109; 7,032, respectively. These are also the only 4 localities in the country with an average high school graduation exam score above 7 points in 2023.

Nationwide, 162 candidates got 0 points.

In the 2024 high school graduation exam, 162 candidates nationwide received a score of 0. The analysis of the score distribution of the 2024 high school graduation exam showed that 162 candidates nationwide received a score of 0. Of which, 1 candidate was in Math, Literature (20), Foreign Language (3), Physics (4), Chemistry (11), Biology (35), History (6), Geography (59), and Civic Education (23).

Last year, the 3 localities with the most zero points were: Ho Chi Minh City with 29 zero points, Hanoi with 14 zero points and Long An with 12 zero points.

According to the regulations, candidates are eligible to be recognized as graduating from high school when no subject scores 1 or lower and the total score is 5 or higher. Thus, candidates who score 0 will not be eligible to graduate, even if they are eligible to be admitted to any university.

Nearly 10,900 high school graduation exams scored 10, down about 5,500 compared to last year.

According to data released by the Ministry of Education and Training, Civic Education is still the subject with the most 10-point exams, but has dropped sharply from nearly 14,700 to more than 3,360.

Physics, Biology and Mathematics also recorded a decrease in the number of 10-point exams. Mathematics was the only subject where no candidate scored 10, while last year, 12 candidates achieved this level.

On the other hand, History had more than 2,100 perfect scores, an increase of about 3 times compared to last year. The number of perfect scores in Chemistry also increased by 9.3 times, while Geography increased by 90 times. As for English, the number of perfect scores in the past three years was almost the same.

Bac Ninh leads in the number of valedictorians of block C00 nationwide

13/19 valedictorians of combination C00 (Literature, History, Geography) are all from Bac Ninh province, with 29.75 points. Of which, History and Geography scores are absolute, Literature 9.75.

The other six candidates are from Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An. Among the five traditional groups, these are the candidates with the highest scores.

The 2024 high school graduation exam took place on June 26-28 with more than 1.07 million candidates. The four exams include Literature, Math, Foreign Language and a combination (Natural Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Biology; or Social Sciences: History, Geography, Civic Education).

Candidates can use their high school graduation exam results to apply for university admission. The registration and adjustment period is from July 18 to 30. The university admission results will be announced before 5:00 p.m. on August 19.

The score distribution of subjects remains stable.

According to the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training), in general, the score distribution of high school graduation exams in 2024 remains stable and similar to the score distribution in 2023 and previous years. The average and median scores of exams nationwide remain stable and similar to 2023.

Meanwhile, the scores of all subjects have appropriate differentiation to ensure stable enrollment as last year; the traditional combinations in enrollment are also relatively stable compared to previous years.

The exam results continue to confirm that the 2024 High School Graduation Exam has fully achieved the set goals and requirements:

Firstly, evaluate learners' learning outcomes according to the educational objectives of the high school general education program.

Second, consider recognizing high school graduation and is the basis for evaluating the quality of teaching and learning of high schools and the direction of educational management agencies.

Third, universities and vocational education institutions can use high school graduation exam results for admission.
