The Vietnamese team consisted of 6 students from 4 leading universities in Vietnam, including: Mai Thi Phuong, Nguyen Thi Thu Trang and Dinh Hoang Anh (Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology); Pham Quynh Trang (VinUni University); Cao Sy Duong ( Hanoi University of Science and Technology), and Tran Dang Nam (Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport).

The SkyNet project is developed based on the application of drones, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and AI technology to support faster and smarter search and rescue of victims in flooded areas.

The project was developed with the criteria: high-resolution image capture, stable mobile data broadcasting and real-time data reporting. SkyNet development costs are also optimally calculated to bring economic benefits and diverse application scenarios when commercialized to the market.

At the Tech4Good Asia- Pacific round, 6 Vietnamese students competed with 24 teams of outstanding technology talents from 24 other countries in the region.

After two consecutive rounds, the Vietnamese team won convincingly with the SkyNet project rich in applications and an impressive presentation, based on the practical context of super typhoon Yagi that just caused economic damage of 2 billion USD (0.5% of GDP) to Vietnam.

Previously, to participate in the Tech4Good Asia-Pacific competition, students had to pass 2 rounds of the program "Seeds for the Future 2024". First was the preliminary round with the participation of more than 400 students, then studied and competed with 40 talented students to achieve the highest academic scores and qualify for international competitions.
