Although not majoring in art, students from many universities still "rushed in" to contribute, bringing many elaborate performances to the 27th Exam Consulting Festival of Thanh Nien Newspaper.

Students face many difficulties
On the morning of February 15, Thanh Nien Newspaper officially opened the 2025 Exam Season Consulting program at Dong Nai University, attracting about 10,000 students in the area and more than 50 educational units nationwide. In particular, the program had the participation of many professional student art groups and clubs, making many audiences "wide-eyed", constantly recording memorable moments.
Present in the hall since 7am, Mai Quoc Huy, a third-year student majoring in Chinese at Lac Hong University, and his group mates were busy ironing their costumes and rehearsing on stage to present a Chinese ancient dance performance called Tu Hai Minh Uoc . "The preparation process was very difficult," Huy, who is also the group leader, shared.
The male student said that his classmates had gathered into a group after a competition organized by the Oriental Studies Department of the school. Because they were all students and not professional dancers, not to mention some members had never competed in artistic activities before, it was difficult to follow the movements, difficult to memorize the lessons, and even suffered many injuries such as bleeding, neck and shoulder dislocations, joint pain... during the practice.
"In addition, we also had to choose costumes that matched the color and theme to stand out on stage. After more than a month, the dance was completed," Huy said.
To perfect the performance, the group of students from Lac Hong University spent a month preparing and practicing.

Sharing about the meaning of the dance, Huy said that this is a performance that not only depicts the beauty of the country but also talks about the heroic spirit, the solidarity between comrades, "overcoming difficulties together and realizing common ideals". "My industry is closely linked to culture, history, Hanfu and graceful, soft dances", Huy said about his connection with art.
In addition, the program also had the participation of members of Dong Nai University, the host unit of the opening program of Exam Consulting. Here, talented students of the school performed the song Tu Van and then the hall exploded with the performance Nguoi Mien Nuoc Chat performed by the dance group of Dong Nai University.

Change of pace after "dry" times
Nguyen Huynh Tan and Tran Duong Quang, both majoring in information technology at Saigon University of Technology, also had an emotional performance with thousands of students at high schools in Dong Nai province. The two performances "Four words too much" and "Even if it's the end of the world " - songs from the billion-dollar movie "The Four Guardians" - were remixed into an acoustic version, making many Gen Z audiences excitedly sing along.
"Both songs were prepared by members of our guitar club (STU Guitar Club) for the past week, with lead guitar, bass guitar and cajon. The performance also has a bit of modernity combined with rusticity to make the sound better and more vibrant," the male student said. "While practicing, we also constantly exchanged and shared useful experiences when performing on stage," Huynh Tan said.
Why study information technology but pursue artistic activities? Tan and Quang confided that the main reason is to have fun, to find new things after the somewhat dry lessons. "This is also an opportunity for us to pursue our passion for music and at the same time find the artist inside each of us. We also have many activities to perform outside," said Duong Quang.

Check-in at Thanh Nien Newspaper's Exam Consulting Day
Giving advice to seniors who want to pursue information technology, the group shared that first of all, they need to be good at math and physics, the "foundation" subjects for practicing logical thinking. In addition, students also need to get familiar with programming early, avoid waiting until entering university to start learning.
One of the performances that also received a lot of response was the modern dance "Rock Grain of Rice" by a group of students from Binh Duong University of Economics and Technology. This is a song with a cheerful and innocent melody, just like 18-year-old students and that is also the reason why they chose to perform, according to Vo Thanh Tin, a specialist from the Student Affairs Department of Binh Duong University of Economics and Technology.
"The students have been practicing hard over the past two weeks to bring exciting moments on their journey to learn about their careers. In the coming time, I wish the students will study well and make rational choices after listening to advice from experts from the Ministry of Education and Training and many teachers at the university in today's consultation session of Thanh Nien Newspaper," Tin shared.

Tin added that although the school does not offer art-related majors, it still creates opportunities for students to gain experience and even earn income from their passion for art through the art club. "As for the dance group, you can participate in many activities of the school or the provincial youth union, receive training points and allowances. However, we also remind you to study hard, not just focus on art activities," he said.
