177 student delegates from 11 countries attended the 1st World Student Festival in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024 and the 8th International Student Science Forum in 2024.

At the closing ceremony of the program on the afternoon of August 3, Ms. Tran Thu Ha, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association, announced the good news that 177 delegates had agreed to launch and become part of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Friendship Network.

This is an initiative of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnamese Student Association to inspire, create a space for students to connect, share ideas and actions, and spread the most positive messages for a better future.

Emphasizing the pioneering and creative role of young people, Ms. Ha hopes that after this program, delegates will start to realize the presented initiatives.

"The delegates are the core connecting local youth and students with the country and, more broadly, the world community," Ms. Ha pointed out.

It is not simply a matter of studying effective volunteer activities in the community in general and education in particular. Many papers highlight the role of applying digital transformation and technology in volunteer activities to increase their impact on the community.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Vice President of VNU-HCM, said that the Festival and Forum are opportunities for students to discuss and share creative ideas and breakthrough solutions to global issues.

Awarding prizes for excellent scientific research topics and presentations

The first year of the World Student Festival in Ho Chi Minh City attracted 79 international student delegates (accounting for 45% of the total number of delegates), 7 delegates representing Vietnamese Student Associations abroad and 91 delegates who are scientists and students teaching, researching and studying in provinces and cities across the country.

"These efforts not only contribute to solving the challenges of the times such as climate change, building public health, unemployment, poverty, gender inequality, conflicts and other social issues, but also affirm the pioneering role of youth in building a better world," said Professor Mai.
