A representative of Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that this is to encourage students to take the bus, helping to reduce urban traffic congestion and protect the environment. For students whose residence or destination is far from the bus stop, walking to the bus stop is an activity that helps them exercise daily.

There are currently a total of 17 bus stops near the school. On average, there is a bus every 20-30 minutes. Tracking the bus arrival time also helps students practice punctuality to catch the bus they want and arrive at their destination on schedule.

Taking the bus also helps students save money effectively. Those who do not have their own means of transportation often use services such as technology motorbike taxis, taxis, etc., which are quite expensive. With the price of a few technology motorbike taxis or a taxi ride, students can register for a monthly bus pass and use it unlimitedly to the desired destinations.

"With the above benefits, the habit of using public transport in general and buses in particular needs to be encouraged and widely spread. In the 2024-2025 school year, the school continues to encourage students to actively use buses to contribute to reducing traffic congestion, environmental pollution and self-training," Hanoi University of Science and Technology informed.

This is the first time a university has given students extra training points by taking the bus.

The school does not have specific statistics on the number of students who go to school by bus, but actual observations show that many students use this means of transport. Students who submit proof of a monthly bus pass will receive additional training points.

Training scores are often used to consider scholarships, rewards and discipline, school withdrawal, dormitory accommodation and other priorities according to each school's regulations. In addition, this is also the basis for considering students for exams or graduation thesis.
