On the afternoon of March 24, the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Grand Prix of Binh Dinh international professional powerboat race announced that the leaders of Binh Dinh province and the Chairman of Binh Dinh F1 Company went directly to the racing area to join captain Jonas Andersson in opening the container of the Formula 1 powerboat of the Binh Dinh - Vietnam team.
Earlier, on the same morning, the racing boats worth more than 18 billion VND of the Binh Dinh - Vietnam team docked at Thi Nai lagoon (Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh). This was the first time that motorboat racing fans had the opportunity to "witness" these expensive boats.
Here, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, together with Mr. Tran Viet Anh, Chairman of Binh Dinh F1 Company, together with team captain Jonas Andersson opened the F1H2O motorboat container of Binh Dinh F1 racing team.
The F1H2O motorboat takes the image of the Vietnamese flag as the main theme, the entire boat is covered in a bright red color with the image of a 5-pointed star right in the middle of the bow, helping the audience easily identify the home team on the race track, promising to bring many emotions and pride to all fans of the Vietnamese racing team.
The UIM F1H2O tournament will be held from March 29 to March 31, at Thi Nai lagoon, Quy Nhon city (Binh Dinh).
The motorboat used in the race is a high-speed catamaran with excellent flexibility. The boat is 6 m long and 2 m wide. The boat weighs up to 390 kg, while the engine accounts for nearly 120 kg. The engine used by the racing motorboat is a 2-stroke V6, burning 120 liters of fuel per hour to return more than 400 horsepower at 10,500 rpm. The boat can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2 minutes and has a maximum speed of over 250 km/h.
Currently, the Binh Dinh - Vietnam team owns 3 boats, number 1 is controlled by captain Jonas Andersson, number 2 is controlled by racer Stefan Arand, and there is 1 additional reserve boat.
