Shopee supports businesses and users to increase resilience

In 2022, Shopee helped users save a total of US$1.7 billion when shopping for goods and essentials on the platform, and supported sellers from 200 locations across the region to start their online business journey.

Businesses and consumers have continued to leverage technology to increase their resilience by maximizing access through e-commerce, even as countries reopen and local communities continue to face macroeconomic challenges.

According to the report “Shopee Together: Building Resilience with Technology”, shoppers in Southeast Asia saved US$1.7 billion on goods and essentials through monthly shopping campaigns organized by Shopee in collaboration with sellers and brands.

In Vietnam, Shopee continuously cooperates with brands and sellers to bring users many incentives, helping them save more when spending. Throughout the shopping campaign series from 9.9, 11.11 to 12.12 in 2022, users saved up to 350 billion VND when shopping at Shopee.

Shopee regularly provides training programs to support sellers through Shopee Academy - Shopee Uni, Shopee Captain program - Shopee Captain. Through these programs, sellers can receive many sources of support from the community to easily start, grow and successfully do business online with Shopee.

To enhance the skills of sellers, entrepreneurs and talents, Shopee also organizes many useful programs such as the online programming competition Shopee Code League, helping talents gain a better position to succeed in the digital economy...

E-commerce adoption among businesses and consumers has increased, with 85% of new users coming from non-metropolitan areas and major cities. Shopee has also supported sellers from 200 locations across the region to start their online business journey. In addition, Shopee and its partners’ community engagement programmes throughout 2022 have reached 600,000 participants, demonstrating the company’s efforts to scale up its support for local communities.
