DTO - On the afternoon of April 19, 2025, at Senta Restaurant - Wildbird Hotel, Tam Nong District, Dong Thap Province, Tam Nong District People's Committee coordinated with Tram Chim National Park, Vietnam Joint Stock Company and Korat Zoo (Thailand) to organize a communication program with the theme "Red-crowned Crane - Friend and commitment".

Attending the program were Mr. Tran Thanh Thanh - Vice Chairman of Tam Nong District People's Committee; Dr. Tran Triet - Director of Southeast Asian Crane Conservation Program; Mr. Doan Van Nhanh - Deputy Director of Tram Chim National Park Conservation Center.

On the Thai side, there were Mr. Supree Baosingsauy - Member and Advisor, Former Executive Director of CPF Rural Development Fund; Mr. Thanachon Kensigh - Director of Korat Zoo. The program also attracted the participation of more than 135 delegates representing mass organizations, OCOP subjects, tourism units, crane conservation experts from Vietnam and Thailand, and many local people.
Thai crane conservation expert believes that Tram Chim National Park has many advantages in implementing crane conservation compared to Thailand.
At the program, Thai experts shared the Red-crowned Crane conservation model that has been successfully implemented in Thailand. Representatives of Korat Zoo emphasized the role of the community in conservation work with a profound message: "People love Cranes - Cranes feed people", reflecting the harmonious relationship between people and nature, thereby contributing to raising public awareness of the responsibility to preserve precious ecological values.
Dr. Tran Triet - an expert accompanying the program to reintroduce the Red-crowned Crane from Thailand to Vietnam, shared about the cooperation journey between the parties to bring the first Red-crowned Cranes back to Tram Chim National Park. According to Dr. Tran Triet, the conservation of this iconic bird species at Tram Chim is not only about preserving rare species but also protecting part of the natural heritage of the Southeast Asian wetlands.
Within the framework of the program, speakers and delegates spent a lot of time discussing solutions to conserve Red-crowned Cranes, including combining nature conservation with sustainable economic development, promoting ecotourism associated with people's livelihoods. Master Nguyen Hoai Bao - Lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Sciences affirmed the potential of Tram Chim National Park in developing ecotourism. If planned and invested properly, it will contribute to increasing income for people in the buffer zone, while protecting the natural habitat for migratory birds, including Red-crowned Cranes.

An important content of the program is the signing ceremony of a commitment between the Farmers' Association of Tam Nong district and the Farmers' Associations of 6 communes and towns in the buffer zone on promoting green, environmentally friendly agricultural production, creating conditions for Red-crowned Cranes to live and develop in Tram Chim National Park. This commitment demonstrates the local political determination in promoting community strength in nature conservation.
