Nvidia boss becomes chairman of artificial intelligence company formerly owned by Vingroup

After being acquired by Nvidia, the artificial intelligence company VinBrain appointed Mr. Mark Steven Hoose, Nvidia's tax director, as chairman and legal representative.

According to information from the national business registration system, VinBrain Company Limited has just changed its business registration content.

Accordingly, Mr. Mark Steven Hoose (born in 1967) will be the company's chairman and legal representative of VinBrain from the end of December 2024.

The business ownership has also changed, belonging to Nvidia International, INC. headquartered in the US. Information from the business registration shows that VinBrain has a charter capital of more than 627 billion VND.

Regarding the new chairman of VinBrain, Mr. Mark Steven Hoose is currently the director of tax at Nvidia, and is also the chairman and general director of Nvidia Vietnam Company Limited - Nvidia's representative legal entity in Vietnam, established at the end of May 2024.

Earlier in early December 2024, Mr. Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, announced that he had acquired VinBrain.

"This is an extraordinary and wonderful start-up in Vietnam. With VinBrain, we now have the starting point for a major future design center," Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang shared.

The value of the deal has not been disclosed, but the third quarter 2024 financial report shows that Vingroup holds a 49.74% stake (equivalent to more than 126 million USD) in VinBrain.

Established in 2019, VinBrain was formerly VinBrain Management Automation Solutions Consulting Company Limited with a charter capital of 30 billion VND and 100% owned by Vintech Technology Development Joint Stock Company, of which Vingroup holds 86.67%.

At the end of 2024, the Government and the technology giant Nvidia also signed an agreement to cooperate in establishing a research and development center on artificial intelligence (AI) of this corporation in Vietnam, which opens up opportunities to develop the billion-dollar technology industry - AI technology in the coming years.
