On April 21, the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province said that Vice Chairman of the province Phan Thai Binh had just signed a decision to announce a series of priority projects to attract investment in 2025.
Notably, in the list of 277 priority projects that Quang Nam will attract in 2025, there are two major urban railway lines including Chu Lai - Da Nang and Hoi An - Da Nang.
According to Quang Nam province, the investment in these two important urban railway projects aims to synchronously develop the province's strategic transport infrastructure system with five types of transport including: road, railway, inland waterway, seaway, and air in a modern direction, in line with national planning orientation.
The projects also ensure intra-regional and inter-regional connectivity along coastal economic corridors, east-west economic corridors, synchronous connectivity with the whole country and international connectivity.
The development of this project is consistent with long-term planning. Investors interested in the project should contact the local authorities to review the current land use status.

Da Nang and Hoi An are located by the sea, about 25km apart. Currently, traffic connecting these two central tourist cities in the Central region is very convenient with two parallel boulevards, including the coastal road and Tran Thu Do - Nguyen Tat Thanh boulevard.
Many years ago, the project to dredge the Co Co River also aimed to "revive" the historical waterway connecting Hoi An with Da Nang.
According to many documents, from 1905 to 1916, there existed a railway connecting Hoi An and Da Nang. This traffic route replaced the waterway on the buried Co Co River.
By around 1916, the Hoi An - Da Nang railway also stopped operating due to damage caused by storms and sand.
