BTO-On the afternoon of October 16, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan held a press conference to inform about the 2023 Kite Festival and Supercar Exhibition. This Kite Festival set a Guinness record for the largest kite in Vietnam with the theme "Wings of Dreams".
The Kite Festival and supercar performance will take place from October 22-29 in Hoa Thang commune, Bac Binh district and the Hoa Thang - Hoa Phu route through Bac Binh and Tuy Phong districts.
This is one of the activities in response to the National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence". At the same time, it is an opportunity to introduce and promote the typical beauty of the land and people of Binh Thuan. The press conference attracted the attention of many domestic and foreign press.
Currently, the Organizing Committee has accepted registrations from 10 professional kite teams, who will perform 1,000 kites on the opening day of October 22, as well as throughout the festival. The Guinness World Record for the largest kite in Vietnam will also be set, with a width of 23m, a length of about 38m, and a size of nearly 900 m2.
According to the organizers, this is a type of kite that does not use a frame to shape but will be an aerodynamic kite, promising to bring surprises to viewers. In addition, within the framework of the festival, there will be a parade and display of 60 supercars and luxury cars. In addition, 500 gifts will be given to disadvantaged students in Binh Thuan.
Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan said that after research and survey, kite flying is suitable for the weather and terrain conditions in Binh Thuan when there is a stable wind. This will be the development direction for this new sport. If the organization is successful, the province will move towards establishing a Kite Federation in Binh Thuan to promote the development of the kite flying movement in the locality, creating a highlight to attract tourists in the near future. It is estimated that the festival will attract about 3,000 people to participate in the experience.
At the press conference, the Organizing Committee also answered questions related to the types of kites and supercars that will be displayed as well as security and order, traffic flow, fire prevention and fighting, and medical care at the festival. The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on BTV and digital platforms of Binh Thuan Radio and Television Station on the morning of October 22.
