Speaking at the Vietnam Innovation Day 2024 on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the National Innovation Center (NIC) on October 1, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that since its establishment, NIC has made an important contribution to raising Vietnam's position and reputation in science, technology and innovation in the region and internationally.

Emphasizing the motto "what is said must be done, what is committed must be implemented effectively, practically and specifically" and assigning "clearly people, clear tasks, clear time, clear responsibilities, clear products", the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Planning and Investment to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to focus on directing and further promoting the role of NIC in the coming time.

In particular, it is important to focus on researching and proposing specific mechanisms and policies to effectively support businesses, especially high-tech, innovative, and young start-up businesses. The Prime Minister clearly requested the Ministry of Planning and Investment to urgently amend Decree 94/2020 regulating preferential mechanisms and policies for NICs, and submit it to the Government for promulgation before October 10, 2024.

The Prime Minister said that the Government will direct investment to complete the transport infrastructure system connecting Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, including NIC, especially the urban railway connecting to the center of Hanoi.

It is known that NIC has completed its two operating facilities in Hanoi and Hoa Lac High-Tech Park with a total area of ​​over ^30,000m2 , becoming the largest innovation promotion facilities in Vietnam and the region.

Over the past 5 years, NIC has contributed to the formation and development of a complete innovation ecosystem, especially in the key technology fields of artificial intelligence and semiconductors.

Actively implement semiconductor human resource development program, build mutually beneficial cooperative relationships with many of the world's leading semiconductor partners (Qorvo, ARM, Marvell, Cadence, Synosyps, NVIDIA, Siemens...).

NIC is also the focal point for the Semiconductor Industry Human Resource Development Program to 2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister.

At the same time, establish 10 Vietnamese innovation networks in 20 countries/territories with more than 2,000 members who are experts and intellectuals.

Also on the afternoon of October 1, at the NIC building in Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, the Galaxy Innovation Hub in the North invested in and built by HDBank was officially opened.

The Galaxy Innovation Hub at NIC will act as a bridge between businesses, researchers and experts, promoting cooperation and forming a comprehensive innovation network in the Northern region.

By connecting partners, Galaxy Innovation Hub will provide financial solutions, technology infrastructure and training programs to further resonate the development power of technology businesses, start-ups and attract multinational technology corporations around the world.

"We hope and believe that the National Innovation Center will be the heart of the innovation ecosystem, a fulcrum for the outstanding, sustainable development and global integration of young people.

"The Center should lead the trend, spread creative thinking, and elevate Vietnam to become a country that is the origin of innovation, capable of mastering technology, reaching the regional and world level, not only for application but also for contributing to shaping the future of the world," the head of the Government expressed his hope.
