There will be 300 self-driving Chinese tourist cars entering Quang Ninh every month.

On October 30, information from the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province said that this locality has just officially approved the pilot management of self-driving tourist car services between Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh) - Dong Hung City. The pilot period of self-driving Chinese tourist cars starts from October 30 and ends on September 30, 2026.

Vietnamese tourists' cars drove to Dongxing City to travel to the neighboring country in 2016.

Also according to the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, self-driving Chinese tourist vehicles, after completing entry procedures, will be allowed to go to Ha Long City via National Highway 18A; Ha Long - Mong Cai Expressway.

Self-driving Chinese tourist vehicles are not allowed to enter QL18C; military areas. During the move, stopping to film and take photos is allowed, except in restricted areas; other military areas.

For self-driving tourist vehicles from Quang Ninh, the Chinese authorities will regulate when leaving for Dongxing City.

In addition, Chinese car groups entering Vietnam under the above tourism program must be vehicles with less than 9 seats; with the logo of the travel agency. Notably, each month, only 300 cars from each side are allowed to complete entry and exit procedures; each group has a maximum of 10 cars.

Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Quang Ninh Department of Transport to coordinate with the Quang Ninh Border Guard; Quang Ninh Provincial Police; Quang Ninh Customs Department; Quang Ninh Department of Transport; Department of Tourism and relevant functional agencies and localities to coordinate in organizing the management of vehicles entering and exiting the country in accordance with regulations and in a convenient manner. Periodically every month, every year and at the end of the pilot period, an assessment of the implementation results will be organized to report to the Prime Minister.

Accordingly, 5-7 seater cars from Vietnam are allowed to enter Guilin City (Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region) with a distance of 600 km. Similar cars from China are allowed to enter Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province with a distance of 180 km. Chinese tourists traveling by self-driving tourist cars to Quang Ninh must have a visa. From here, tourists can leave their cars in Ha Long City and continue to other localities such as Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, etc.
