Speaking at the forum, Mr. Dong Mai Lam, General Director of Schneider Electric Vietnam and Cambodia shared: "Schneider Electric sees three trends in the future. First, the sustainable development commitments of governments are becoming very strong and Vietnam is one of the countries that has committed to achieving the NetZero goal by 2050. Second, electrification in the transportation industry is one of the important factors and governments are introducing policies and sanctions to accelerate the electrification process of electric vehicle development. The third trend is the new electric world where investment in ESG is becoming popular. In 2022 alone, the world invested over 1,000 billion USD in ESG fields".

Among them, the development of electric vehicles and renewable energy plays a central role. According to a report released by the International Energy Agency (IEA) on April 26, electric vehicle (EV) sales are growing strongly and are expected to account for nearly 20% of all vehicles sold in 2023. In its annual report on EVs, the IEA expects annual sales to increase by 35% this year, reaching 14 million vehicles, and EV market share to be at 18%, up from 4% in 2020.
The increase in electric vehicle sales means that the demand for charging stations is also increasing. However, the challenge is that the charging station infrastructure is still not developed enough and the related technology is still limited. This poses a big task for the industry to meet the growing demand of electric vehicle users.
Mr. Dong Mai Lam said: "Electric vehicle users need to charge when stopping, not stopping to charge. With the development of technology, the operating range of electric vehicles is getting farther and farther, so the need to stop to charge electric vehicles is getting smaller and smaller. When electric vehicle users charge their vehicles at home or in high-rise buildings, they will reduce costs by 20-25%, take the initiative in driving time as well as apply renewable energy technologies to charge electric vehicles. In particular, the need for convenience is very important."
As a leading energy management company, Schneider Electric offers solutions to help accelerate the transition to electric vehicles for customers, thereby helping to accelerate the reduction of carbon emissions, greenhouse gas emissions and climate change.
In electric vehicle solutions, Schneider Electric has designed the EcoStruxure solution for eMobility - a comprehensive solution, in addition to charging infrastructure, where the entire ecosystem is easily integrated, connecting the system to optimize the use and regeneration of clean energy for homes, buildings, and public charging stations. In addition, this solution can also automatically adapt to the infrastructure of the project at each time (for example, during peak hours, the charging capacity will automatically adjust to avoid overload).
