A series of large-scale and attractive events and activities will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of April 30 this year, such as a parade, a national military parade, a special national art program, and artistic fireworks displays... This is the time when all citizens and tourists want to go back in time to the places that made the great victory of Spring 1975.

Only more than 80km from Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh is a "red address" not to be missed with many revolutionary destinations and meaningful activities, creating a series of memorable "back in history" experiences during this year's 5-day holiday.

At Ba Den Mountain , Tay Ninh, activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification were kicked off right from the Hung Kings' death anniversary, with a flag-raising ceremony attended by thousands of employees of the Sun World Ba Den Mountain tourist area and visitors.

Towards the 30/4 holiday, the flag-raising ceremony at Ba Den Mountain will continue to be held every Monday morning until the end of the holiday (ie on 7/4; 14/4; 21/4 and 30/4). From 6am every Monday, visitors to the top of the highest mountain in the South will be given red flag shirts with yellow stars to attend the flag-raising ceremony. Thousands of employees of Sun World Ba Den Mountain tourist area and visitors look towards the national flag flying on the top of the mountain at the foot of the statue of Buddha Tay Bo Da Son, creating an extremely emotional moment.

Ms. Dao Thi Viet - Deputy Director of Sun World Ba Den Mountain said: "We are extremely proud to bring this sacred ceremony to visitors. This is the link connecting the glorious past with the present, where generations bow to remember and pay tribute to the national heroes who sacrificed their blood for the country."

Going back in history, Ba Den Mountain at an altitude of 986m is not only a legendary sacred mountain, but also an important stronghold that was once occupied by the US and built a communications base on the top of the mountain. Every cave, tree root, and trail here bears the story of the bravery and sacrifice of heroic martyrs.

On January 6, 1975, Ba Den Mountain was officially liberated – a feat that contributed significantly to the historic victory on April 30, 1975. After 50 years, this mountain has become a red address for veterans to return to the old battlefield, and for visitors to burn incense to commemorate the heroes who sacrificed their lives at bases on the mountain such as Kim Quang Cave, Hang Pagoda, Son Than Temple...

On Saturday evenings, a solemn candle offering ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs will be held at Tay Bo Da Son Square. In the middle of the sacred mountain, thousands of prayers for peace and happiness will be sent by visitors under the light of the candles, creating an extremely memorable experience.

Also on this occasion, visitors to Ba Den Mountain can participate in many special sideline activities to celebrate the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival, such as visiting the Buddhist painting exhibition by artist Hoang Phong and watching art performances recreating intangible cultural heritages.

To celebrate the Buddha's birthday , the sacred Buddha bathing ceremony for Buddhists and visitors to commemorate the Buddha's merits will be held at Tay Bo Da Son Square throughout the month of Vesak. In particular, on May 8, thousands of Vesak delegates from more than 80 countries will come to Ba Den Mountain to attend historical ceremonies such as the procession of Buddha's relics from the National Museum of India, the planting of 108 Bodhi trees and the candle lighting ceremony to pray for world peace.

Ba Den Mountain, from a "historical witness", is now not only a revolutionary red address, but has become a pilgrimage destination for Vietnam and the world.

Not far from Ba Den Mountain are special revolutionary destinations for visitors to review the heroic history of the nation such as the Southern Central Bureau Base (Tay Ninh) which was the headquarters of the Southern revolution for a long time; or Cu Chi Tunnels (Ho Chi Minh City) which is an underground maze - a place for soldiers and people to take shelter and fight. These will be destinations in the South that cannot be missed on the occasion of April 30 this year to create a proud and meaningful historical journey.
